I have been running all over Atlantic to find a spot where I can place but have not seen any. Anyone out there that may know of one?

Run all over Fel. It's safer than you may think and there are spots available. I've had no problem over the last year finding an 18x13,15, or 16 open spot, on the water. There are also inland spots to be found in Felucca.

I'd also recommend looking for IDOCs. I made my living from IDOCs for about a year on Atlantic. Found several IDOCs of varying sizes, including about one or two max storage houses, every month.

Wow, yes I know of one that might be kind of small. But 2 of our members placed nice homes on Monday as there were four IDOCs. If you come to our guild house, a tower named 'Ocularis Infernum' of the north shore of balmy Lake Gravewater in malas we lock runes for idocs on the floor and anyone can use them. Hang around a bit and one of our members may well know somewhere you can place!

It's so amazingly easy to find free house spots on Atlantic… and yes, it's a matter of running around and looking for yourself. But the big difference is… if you are looking for a large house, you aren't going to find one for free. You’ll need to pay. Odds are you’ve pass over many house the size of a classic sandstone and smaller. It's not hard.

Atlantic, unlike many other shards… you aren't going to find free 18x18 spots! It's that simple.

Get yourself something small, get some work in… set up some vendors… make the big money to get the big houses. It's that easy. There are tons of free vendor space malls that are well known and well traveled you can set up at. Then... the sky is the limit.

I have been doing my runs around. Have been on Trammel, not done with the whole area though. I will also try Fel.

I posted my question because sometimes there is those that may just know the exact location of an open spot or know of someone that is selling, whether is small or an 18x18.

I have been playing UO for awhile and have done well in finding other things to have a fun time playing. The money is not an issue for me, but thank you for that advice.

I found two spots last night in Fel that would hold a large "L" shaped classic design...I placed on one of them right on the road...some other corn-nut placed a two story 8 x something in the other...people sometimes think the only houses to place are the newer customizable homes, and forget that the "L" shape will go where others may not.

I also found multiple spots for large homes on the Trammel side...finding available spots is not an issue on this shard.

For the record… Fel is as ghetto as you can get. I wouldn’t recommend it. I live in Tram… always have, always will. At least find a spot in Malas. It's harder to get around, but at least its got almost endless house area.

I just thought of something kind of funny to throw in this thread… for the record. Maybe you would be interested.

Right after Age of Shadows hit… I was able to afford my first full tower. I didn’t customize it or anything. Mild spawn, no big deal. Someone eventually bought the 2 smaller houses in front of mine and then built a nasty house with full walls on the top floor so I would recall into a blind spot… and because of the spawn, and the lag and sometimes the computer would freeze… my people were getting murdered. Thanks to some rude jerk and designers that didn’t think full walls on the top floor weren’t a bad idea.

Anyways… so after all of a few months of rebuilding some 20m gold to spend, I had to find a new place. This time on the edge of the Trinny Swamp. This time I customized it, made it a touch bigger. Missed getting a full 18x18, still… no big deal. I had 3 mid size plots next door, with even larger ones just next to those. In 3-4 years of owning that house, before I moved to what would be my town… I saw those mid-size houses fall no less then a dozen times. All 3 of them together, not a dozen each. Any time I saw someone wanting a house… I would show them the areas and let them have at it. Or if I had a spare account… I would give the place away. Still… they fell again and again.

I mean, at least now… it's a little easier to deal with idocs, but frankly… I hate them. Stress levels go off the charts. I also know what it's like to have a friend’s house fall right next door and know there is no way to help him because he’s fighting to keep from being r/l homeless… and evil campers refuse to sell me back his plot so I can return it to him. But now… like a few months ago, because of another drama… one of the pro campers actually helped me get a house back… we didn’t loose even a plant. I’d say that’s a great improvement. I’ll never forget him.

Just to think, when I started… 20-30 jackals would show up for one small tower. Insane in the membrane.

Well, I found a little spot on Tram but I think I am still going to try and run through fel. Hopefully I'll get lucky and find something away from the ghetto areas..hehe.
