Sources of Loyalty Points

Time for another thread to collect useful information! This one is for the purpose of collecting information about gaining loyalty points in the Gargoyle Queen loyalty goup. If, as hinted by the devs, the loyalty point system expands to include additional loyalty groups (maybe with the next big announcement that was hinted at a few weeks ago??) we'll just add to it.

Background

According to the Publish 60 notes, some game mechanics will require Loyalty. You can check your loyalty points by using the context menu on your character (right click on the character in the game window and select "Loyalty Points").

Gargoyle Queen Loyalty Group
In the Gargoyle Queen loyalty group, you can gain points by killing monsters in Ter Mur, the Tomb of Kings, and the Abyss. (Need to verify that you can also gain in the Underworld....it may just be considered an extension of the Abyss.) The top attacker gets a set amount of points from each particular type of monster. Lesser attackers will receive a smaller amount of points, but the points they are awarded do not subtract from the points awarded to the top attacker.

You can also gain Gargoyle Queen loyalty group points by completing certain quests.

In order to place a house in one of the new housing areas in Ter Mur, a character must have Noble status in the Gargoyle Queen loyalty group. Using the soulforge in the Queen's Palace also requires Noble status in the Gargoyle Queen loyalty group.

Point ranks in the Gargoyle Queen loyalty group:

  • Below 0: Enemy
  • 0-1999: Friend
  • 2000-9999: Citizen
  • 10,000 and up: Noble

Here is an incomplete list of sources for Gargoyle Queen loyalty points where the points were awarded to the "top attacker." Will add to the list as people post additional information.

  • Clockwork Scorpion (Abyss)
  • Gargoyle Shades (Tomb of Kings)
  • Putrid Undead Guardian (Tomb of Kings]

Has anyone come across any actions that cause a loss of loyalty points in the Gargoyle Queen's loyalty group?

Edited to add the following map with an overlaying grid. If you're providing information about creatures found in overland Ter Mur, feel free to use the coordinate(s) from the grid to indicate where you found the creature(s).

AFK wither spam, unfortunately. It's like the developers don't even play this game. :/

I'd love to see point totals for each of the new creatures. It would make for much better planning when it comes time for doing quests/hunting Imb ingredients/random hunting.

Thanks for all the hard work Tina, and keep it up!

Loyalty points from monsters are probably based on the fame they give.

Please note that the notes for Publish 60.1 indicates acid slugs will no longer give loyalty points because they instantly respawn. It's not clear if this change only affects acid slugs in the Underworld or if it also affects acid slugs that spawn in the Abyss at the Passage of Tears mini-champ spawn.

Shards (other than Origin) will receive Publish 60.1 during their next maintenance period.

Here's a question: how do crafters gain loyalty? Since the queen's forge gives a bonus to imbuing, they have a vested interest in doing so, but as far as I can tell, every single source of loyalty comes from killing stuff, either directly or indirectly.

One way to do it would be to have your hunter give the items needed for the Axem quests to your crafter to turn in.

Also, it may become more obvious after this list includes more information that there are some creatures that aren't terribly hard to kill that most crafter characters might be able to kill, either with their existing skills or with the help of a tamed pet. Might be an interesting question to ponder for crafting characters now that those characters have an extra two stable slots.

Don't forget too that there will soon be other ways to obtain imbuing ingredients. If those new methods include more quests, I wouldn't be surprised if they also provide loyalty points as a reward.

I can also picture the developers adding quests to create items using Imbuing that must include a certain set of properties. Hand in the item and get a reward and also receive loyalty points.

Yeah, this is kinda what I had planned to do, although I know there are people who have only crafters and don't have that option. Plus, I can pull over 1k loyalty an hour without breaking a sweat just killing stuff...the paltry loyalty rewards of the quests are pretty insignificant compared to that. But hopefully the crafter quests will provide a better option.

My fighters collect the Tome, Pottery and Ancient scroll and my crafter turns them in at the Museum with the curator.

Looks like the cap on loyalty is 15k, just go kill stuff at the new mini champ areas.

It does not matter on most shards now anyway, all ten house spots are taken( sarcasm).

oi.

Old school rep grinds did not work in WoW and they have no place in UO.

IE: farm mobs for hours, collect items, etc.

If you find creatures in Ter Mur, the Underworld, Tomb of Kings, or Abyss that do NOT give loyalty points, please post that information as well. Thanks.

There are lots and lots of Toxic Sliths in area 18, just across the bridge from Ter Mur. They spawn so fast that you can kill them non stop going from 0 to 10k in an hour.

Every [Renowned]-monster seems to give 50 points.

What I wonder about is, how these points are shared, when killing mobs in a party. I would guess that this is the way for pure crafters to go.

Just an FYI: Converting a human or elf to gargoyle doesn't seem to give loyalty points. If you were at 0 before the conversion, you'll still be at 0 after the conversion.

Probably a silly question.. but where do the tattered remnants of ancient scrolls drop? Trying to do the museum quest and I think I'm losing my mind.

Everywhere. Just about any mob in overland Ter Mur or the Abyss will drop them.

They drop off of most creatures in Ter Mur, although the drops aren't as frequent. I've gotten them from Ruddy Bouras to Void Daemons to Toxic Sliths and Kepetch Ambushers.

Not necessarily. The tattered scroll fragments are real small things. They are easy to overlook, especially if you are using legacy backpack art. Be sure to move things around if using this art.

This is so true. Especially when you aren't running a custom UI that changes the color of your pack background to see better.

But, be that as it may, even with the modified background color, they are still pretty hard to see unless you pick through things really carefully.

Makes sense, since you were in theory born a citizen of Britannia and not a citizen of Ter Mur.

The absolute best way to get loyalty points is located at the intersections of 1,2,6,&7 on your map up there (mostly in 6). Go there and kill Stone Sliths, they are islotaed in a small area. There is about 6 of them. They insta-respawn.

You can go from 0-10,000 points in under an hour on a necro-mage.

I have been a vocal critic of the implementation of ingredients for imbuing as the current design makes it very difficult for crafters to get the top end stuff. Draconi promises to change that, we'll see. That being said, I did spend the first several days hunting new creatures to collect junk to unravel. I wanted to experience it the way they intended. I did several of the quests that required monster bashing and explored nearly all of Ter Mur above ground. I did this all on my crafter. I slayed raptors, sliths of all types, bouras, void things, and even lava elementals (toughest for me). My method was using summons. My crafter has some magery and I added jewels and a tome to get him to gm.

My ulterior motive was to reach the 10,000 loyalty points to make use of the Queen's forge later. I managed it in about 4-5 days I think. I enjoyed it. Only had 2 deaths. Once to the Slasher when I tried to run past him, never did make that. And once to a lava elemental with a wicked combo.

Still not happy about ingredients, but we'll see.

Yeah, I reached 10k points last night on one of my two tamers that I've been using for exploration. I know I could have reached it sooner but didn't have much motivation to do so because I'm not interested in placing a house in Ter Mur. Will soon be giving the crafters a try at hunting stuff to see if I can speed up the process of getting them to 10k points. Gave one of them the vollem that came from the early order process, so I'm anxious to see what it can do.

35 Loyalty points from Aliabeth the Tinker.
Frarc, which quests? (I think I know, but can you confirm please?)

I found another new quest giver that rewards you with 75 loyalty points...Sliem the Fence. He asks for one crystalline blackrock and two perfect emeralds and gives you an imbuing ingredient and 75 loyalty points as a reward. The three times I did it, the ingredient was one of the "essences," presented in a nice little black box labeled, "Essence Box."

Is there a cool down period on these quests? Otherwise I think Aliabeth the Tinker is OD'ed on white chocolate. She gave me Essence Box as expected, but is not completing the Exchange when I have 5 white chocolates and and dark sapphire highlighted orange as quest items. She refuses to give a reward, and just keeps offering the Essence Box quest over and over. Doh, and I have 2 more sets of chocolates to give her yet!Never mind, brain dead today, was at the wrong questgiver for the reward!

Yes there are cool downs on the quests:

Requires lower tier quests to be completed before higher tier ones can be obtained

· Most quests are repeatable, with individual cooldown timers based on the tier

o Tier 1: 30 minutes

o Tier 2: 2 hours

o Tier 3: 1 day

· Tier Requirements

o Tier 2: Complete five Tier 1 quests

o Tier 3: Complete ten Tier 2 quests

o The Zosilem quests are an exception:

§ Tier 1 requires five of Thepem’s Tier 2 quests

§ Tier 2 requires ten Tier 1 quests

§ Tier 3 requires twenty Tier 2 quests
