SoT Wipe & Restart. (Your thoughts?)

What do you guys think about the removal of all SoT from the game and they correct the issues? Then allow us to get them as they were ment to be.
I personally had over 200 SoT from farming the Sleeping Dragon Spawn, only there of which are the puzzle reward +3's,for weeks on end during the Tok event. I stand to lose a bit myself. I am just asking from the stand point of a true fix before it does more damage. I see the overall health of my beloved game at risk and would rather see this resolved on a grand scale.

You do realize this one can happen on Siege as well, yes? Unless Siege doesn't have SoT's and i'm forgetting that fact.

To be honest I wouldn't care, I'd probably eat mine all if they gave warning, but that is why they should just wipe them without warning.

That you're pimping SP? Nah... it's nothing new and it's having the same non-effect it always had. I played SP when it first opened, had one of the first houses there WAAAY back when (pre-UO:R)... got bored and left back for "home".

As for the actual topic (before it was insta-derailed by the pimping), I don't think the idea as helpful as it may be would prove either feasible or popular, so I doubt we'll see it implemented.

I wouldn't mind if they removed SoTs altogether. I personally don't like them because they are a cheap (as in lazy way) advantage that allow people to buy their way up to their desired skill level without any effort. I would rather see the developers come up with a training solution that makes skill training either easier, or quicker in some instances (something similar to the alacrity scrolls) which still require the player to be actively involved in raising his/her skills, thus earning and achieving their skill level.

At this point, it is too late for a wipe of any sort.

The cheaters have sold off too much of their stock and the only people getting hurt will be "honest" people.

Main EA should have followed EA Japan's lead and blocked off the puzzle area immediately.

I personally loved when you could get accelerated gains in the blackrock areas. There were dangers but I was able to gm most of the crafting skills. With that said, I am okay with the SoTs as long as they are legit.

Sorry bud, this would screw the people who got theirs legit, and it would bennifit the ones who were running the exploit and selling the SoTs for gain as thgey would still have the gold. Too late. Fix it and move on is the only way to go from here.

Ya back when you could have more then one house per shard I had a L shape there as well as small towers spread across several shards.

I think not.

I have a small number - derived from my blood, toil, sweat and tears - I am storing for future use. I really don't think I should lose them because a group of players lack the maturity to distinguish between the ability to do something and the morality of doing something.

What might be nice is for those who exploited so ruthlessly to be penalized.

This is a waste of time issue. Those of us that play correctly and honestly don't care, as it doesn't impact us. Those that don't play correctly and honestly will be dealt with eventually, one way or another.

I have no SOTs, have no way to get any, and don't want them. The only thing that might get me trying to get a provoking or taming sot would be if I tried for a week and got no gains, and then I'd try to get it myself rather than pay someone a ridiculous amount of money.

So, my answer would be no, I see no purpose other than to hurt and bother other people... which would seem to be the purpose there.

Specifically, it would be nice if all of the excess puzzle acquisitions were counted and that number of days delay charged against the offending accounts, similar to the penalty for the vet rewards exploit manifest on its release.

I liked the blackrock training areas too. It presented risk vs reward and a twist to conventional skill gaining/training. That was actually the most fun I had when training new skills in a long time during the blackrock events.

I was just starting to get my few puzzle rewards a day with my sa enabled characters and today I show up and theres a wall across the room. Yesterday I got my 1st SOT and now after reading this thread and others I find out the system was exploited.
Not sure why I didnt expect this, its been this way since 97 oh well another kewl thing they couldnt implement.

As to the thread I dont care if they wipe them I dont have that many and the one skill I used them for was to finish off the last 2.7 of poisoning a few months ago.

I quess the Dev team is batting 1000 they have yet to release a major addition without totally missing some major bug or exploit.

I'd be pretty pissed. I have a lot of SoTs saved up...many bought, some earned, some won through the puzzle box.

My guess is they'll do nothing, but the far more intelligent solution would be to scan for 3.0 sots. If someone has like 500 of them hiding in their house, it's a good bet that something fishy is up.

Anyway, there's got to be a more elegant solution to this than just penalizing everyone across the board for something that a) is not even the players' fault and b) would have so much collateral damage to those who have come by their SoTs legitimately.
