The pre-patched iron beetles need taming to be controlled. The current ones are control-able by anyone. That's the only difference I am aware of lol.

Thank you for the information. I was just wondering because I have one and was considering letting it go. I wasnt sure if because it was pre-patch if you would have to have taming still to control it. Thank again.

Maybe an idea for the next expansion.

Pet Breeding, allow certain pets to mate with other pets to create new pets might also go some way to those who want dyeable pets (a yellow fire beetle mated with a blue iron beetle would become a green beetle with pack storage and smelting abilities for example)

LoL I was giving the beetles the benefit of the doubt and thinking they mined every 3 or 4 years, but you are definitely right.

LMAO I was given one by a guy and reading the boards at the same time...my friend was standing there complaining that he wanted it and that I was mean for taking it and not allowing him to have it. after seeing what people said I transferred it. How lame. I can mine much faster with my hands. Plus they are ugly!
