Something to consider a use for....

This is not a rant or rave over the amount of Blackrock flooding the shards. Yes I know the Stew is a great use. But when you dont have the recipy for it and you got tons of it every time you go mining.......

How about adding it to the spring cleanup or make more recipys for its use??

Heck I'd even conside just having it stack! But I do know its not all the same "gem" which is what they truly are if you pay attention when you pop in a mine with some on the floor. The title of them quickly changes from a gem to the black rock... so stacking might be hard.

I can see a potential use perhaps:
Alchemits for potions perhaps or how about a large number of it for a crafting item.. just help us get rid of some of it if you wont reissue the bloody cooking recipy.

To all these great ideas I would like to add one. Please make them larger so I can see them in my pack!! Sometimes I think I have to put my nose on the screen to see them.

Agreed entirely. I run around and see so much discarded blackrock I was able to make at least 120 blackrock stews which just sit in my house and take too much room. I don't even use blackrock stew, I just make it for other people because of how many people discard blackrock.

First off, the stews need to stack. It's a commodity, like any other food in the game. The devs really need to make things stack first according to these guidelines:

1) Is it a commodity?
2) Does it remain constant per unit? (No charges, different colors, etc)

If both those conditions are true, then it should stack before it even enters the game.

Second off, I would like to see blackrock used in crafting abyssal cloth. Right now it uses 10 cloth and 1 crystalline blackrock. Seems kind of counter productive to use an imbuing ingredient to make another imbuing ingredient, especially with blackrock littering the ground. Why not make it 10 cloth and 5 blackrock pieces?

Perhaps make blackrock a type of buff item. Use the item to your weapon to add +3 to +5 damage per hit. Also could possibly add the same +3 to +5 to each spell cast when added to a spellbook. This buff to damage would have a timer and would last no more than a couple of hours.

Those little pieces of blackrock are great. They stay crunchy in milk :D

I'm still holding onto the hope (false hope?) that they will make a new quest available for the stew recipe and maybe, just maybe other recipes that will require these odd shaped pieces of black rock.

This i want too~!!! or make the inside of my pack alot lighter in color. I swear i have my magnifyer out every time i get one to find it!!

Aerodice up it to 10 rocks and I'd go for that !!!! and I totaly agree with you on the need for the Dev to think before they code.

How about a way to turn x small pieces of blackrock into 1 crystalline blackrock.

Or a way to glom them together into bigger and bigger pieces until they are big enough to craft stuff out of them with the masonry skill. I want blackrock furniture!

I think there's SIX different small ones, how did that ever happen?
I say use it as a New Spell component, recipe given after the usual grind, maybe called Time Stop

ooooo I like the idea of combining it to make a crystaline blackrock! It's hell to mine up and would give the non-fighter player a way to get more for crafting uses.

I also wouldnt mind the combining them up to a bigger use or skip the whole combining and go strait to the crafting furniture, yes that unique color black would make nice stonework.
call it Black Marble!
I have been waiting for 14 years for them to make it possible for marble works, I love the benches and tables of the white marble. I could see alot of uses for it. Go greek I say!

Well Sevin0oo0 I think there is one for each gem... for a few minutes the other day one stayed in my pack called a daimond till I crossed a server line. I didnt expect it to stay that name but it goes to prove they are gems gone black. So with gems being their root thats 9 different kinds if they follow that pattern. Its why I said it might be difficult to make stack.

Yea I was wondering about that, I remember I put one on my roof top and next day it was gone and my house is private.

We ether need a way to have them combine to a larger rock like the obsidian statue rocks or perhaps a "seed box " like item for gerneral use in some town that would stack them to a larger pile.

Well there is an idea I had when again mining and saw tons of the little stones all over the cave floor.. why not up the amount of rock needed per blackrock stew.. till a new way to get the recipy is given times the amount of rock needed by 10. That should help clear up alot and make it a bit more managable in stew form for those who make it by the ton.

Maybe let us blackrock-infect mobs again. The code is there and all the devs have to do is "flip the switch" to turn it back on.

How about if the small pieces of blackrock are left laying around they "hatch"

Then they grow stronger the longer they are left alive, similar to the void monsters in Ter Mur.

Edit: just as long as they don't hatch inside someones house, too many possibilities for griefing.
