so i have a couple garg's on a couple different shards and i just recentlly decided to top off one of them with 120 throwing (cause the scrolls are dirt cheap)

so i was sitting there training away and i noticed something.

Gargoyles HATE undead.

like hate as in they are the enemy of their race and culture, hate.

my garg is a swords/throwing bushy garg and i have picked up a bunch of the artifact weapons over the last couple months as i have been playing, and as i was looking them over in my pack it because very obvious that the ONLY slayer that comes on the gargoyle weapons is undead (on the weapons i have in my pack that are throwing and swords)

im packing 2 throwing weapons, both are undead slayer (raptor claw and valkyrie's glaive)
and a swords (light of the void)

so i got to thinking what other slayers are out there for gargoyles and i couldnt think of any.

im sure there must be some, but i cant think of them.
so i came to the conclusion that gargoyles just all out hate undead.

i dont know why we all just cant get along.

petrified snake is reptile slayer, but about worthless as a weapon. other than that theres the Abyss Reaver you can get from the Blademaster by the termur soulforge, its a demon slayer i think every time, not sure, its imbueable tho

Well I suppose it would make sense -- they are ticked at their catacombs being infested with undead, and they don't like the void creatures either.

It would be interesting if they, as flying creatures, got a special slayer for non-flyers.

"Stupid Grounded Slayer" perhaps.

But then we'd get a "Stupid Flyer Slayer". I guess it would be a wash in the end.

They do LOVE Fey, though:( Archers and Mages even have Fey slayers now, and the Pixie Swatter is UBWS - but no throwable Fey weapon :( All the other slayer/super slayer types can be imbued or made by chance with a Runic, but Fey is not one of the options...

Yes, Xalan, the quest weapon is still imbuable. I imbued the couple +10 ones I receieved, but since it is a non_GM weapon, you can't embellish it too much... great for starting Throwers!

As for throwing it doesnt matter if they hate if all they do is whiff whiff whiff whiff whiff

Maintain a melee weapon because that is what you will need if you want to be efficient.

My 120 Thrower is staying stoned untill the next Dev team is in place and may correct Throwing....but with my luck they will fix Axe/Swords first :(

They tend to belong there. I think when we see flying coffins in Ter Mer airspace we can begin arguing jurisdiction in earnest.

They also don't technically fly over anything either :/. A gargoyle flies how many feet up in the air? And yet we can't fly over stones, tomb stones, bramble, rats, slimes,etc... come on now that's just silly.

you can in ter mur if you use the flight paths... otherwise, you only fly 1 inch off the ground... fly face first into those stones, brambles, rats, slimes tomb stones ect.

The only really useful thing a Gargoyle can fly over are the desert sands on the way to Dreadhorn.

Damn, wish I had known this lol. I never thought to try. Guess I know how I will be getting keys for Dreadhorn lol. Walking through that place is a death trap with 2 para changelings and another couple regular ones, then getting calmed by dryads fighting other things... There is only so much Honor I can use .

I love me the gargoyles too.. in theory. In practice.. there's a huge inequality with them. In no particular order....

1) Can't do honor quest to get cloak
2) Can't wear any of the suit sets (honor, scout, mage, heartwood, etc)
3) No equivalent to armored swampie for dexer gargs
4) Lack of gargoyle arties
5) Pitiful chance to get existing garg arties in game - this is a pet peeve. All garg arties that drop on mini spawns should have their drop rate increased 5 fold to promote gargoyle race
6) Lack of ability to convert existing arties to garg use -exceptions are few and far between
7) Throwing... enough said

Actually if you do Stone Form that's the equivalent (if not better) to swampy armor's 10% PVM defense.
yeah if you run with mysticism.... unfortunately, my dexer garg doesnt have the room and the skill needed is just above the natural 30 skill we get in mysticism

Just so you guys know, the sword of shattered hopes is about the most OP PvP weapon in the game. Ask anyone whom has met the dreaded TerrorSquad on numerous shards.

This is true. Half a$$ed reliability but once the effects go off it's game over. Oh btw the durability's broken on it once it's at 0/255. It stops taking away 10 points of durability when the special splintering weapon effects a player or target. It just removes one point of base durability if the RNG feels like it instead of 10/splintering effect, and that's easily fort powdered back to full durability :D.

HLD Glasses are broken as well, and Lances can't prepare dismount while flying unlike the human/elf version which CAN be prepped while mounted. It kind of makes a difference...
