I've killed a couple thousand Gypsies, and perhaps 500 chests, no luck so far. It seems of the two chests, one is a level 1 and the other a level 3. The level 3 is the only one that I have had upgrades on the gems and reagents. Since I am getting the upgrades, I assume the code is the same as for the Gypsies, but the chests spawn in fewer numbers (that is one lvl 3 chest versus 5 Gypsies) so anything from chest would naturally be more rare.

I am using a GM lock pick, but since the toughest chest is only lvl 3, I assume you can purchase enough skill for this?

need 80+ picking I believe for lvl 3.

Well something is up with gypsies because I went gypsy killing and besides the loss of 5000 karma I'd occasionally get a little over 70 gems from one corpse.

i honestly would assume you can get somethin stealing from them, i have tried a couple camps stealing from them before i killed them and it just says there's nothing in their pack. so im assuming the very very rare ones that actually do drop one of these u could probably steal it outta pack first. but maybe not too they could be wearing them, thus meanin wouldnt be in their pack to steal. so might wanna open paperdolls too and check out what they wearin. ill update if i find anything.

Where are you all finding these gypsy camps? I have a place out along the road to Oasis and I know they spawn in and around there. I have also found them on the Barrier Island outside of Trinsic.

But other than those 2 locations I haven't found a single other spawn and I have looked up and down the land mass.

Is there something special about where they pop up?

I need to correct this... I just got a level 1 chest with 70 reagent and 70 gems, so both level of chests have possibility of at least gems and reagents to be upgraded.

Britain Moongate, Trinsic Moongate, Minoc Moongate, Central Britannia by the Crossroads, Serpent Spine Mountains just south of Despise (just past the server line), Barrier Isle, the Yew Road down by the water fort.

Those are the places I can think of.

I have, I even placed a small house right smack in the middle of where there is always at least 2 gypsy camps outside, haven't had a lot of time the past few days, but enough to get a bit more than 48,000 gold off their corpses

My keep is a bit outside of wrong, and there seems to be an abundance of gypsies in that area. I went on a little blood frenzied killing spree the other night... :gun:

Didn't get anything but a few gold and lots of naked bodies.

these things are ridiculous.... ive been doin it for the last 4 days or more the whole time ive been on uo and seen nothing. spawn rate is horrible, wel spawn rate.... doesnt seem to be one, we only know of two pieces of jewelry.

how easy was that for the Devs to keep us busy? just add a really low drop rate item/s to something already in game... and we are happy haha.

they said it was random spawn in tram and fel but obviously it is not.

Finaly after killing thousands of these things i finaly got something special and thats just 71 emeralds and thats only special thing i gotten so far and every gold pile ive checked had between 60-75gp and thats it.

Very true Derium but another key part is, make sure it's added to something not normally killed. If these jewels were on say... dragons then a lot more would popup as even those not directly hunting for them would have a chance to find them.

Gypsy's worked well for this and many other under-used NPC's would work well to slaughter.

Oh as an evil role-player (and someone who doesn't take offense due to the RL tie ins) I am glad there's finally another blue "good" thing to slaughter.

Well put and good point sir. And if you think about it, placing the items on a Gypsy fit that bill rather well. Who farmed them before these items eh? No one.

Someone mentioned why not put them on the red spawning brigades. Well, I guess because there are still people who kill them for a few reasons. Because they attack you, and to save their captive. So it was a good move for the Gypsy Camps.

Seems like a bug to me considering the check is blessed, there is no way the gypsy should of lost it.
