WOW! Really, mine have not changed colors in like 5 years. That was why it was so hard to get a full set of all 9 colors for both facets. Are you 100% sure your moonstones change colors?

Just a report on my attempt to find one... I spent about 4-4.5 hours today killing Gypsies, I'm not sure how many it was... maybe 1000, I really don't know. I found nothing. I had the occasional enhanced stack of reg or gems. That is all, nothing else, nothing worth the time I spent.

Im finding the large amounts of regs and gems on npc ....

The chest are set up as cheep loot from corps insted..

How are the gypsy camps supposed to work? When I see them there are three chests, one is always empty, two need to be picked, and they have crap loot. Saying these used to give better loot?

The two chests that are locked should have the normal spawning chest loot with the chance for the new loot (increased gems, etc), the third one in the tent is a "dummy" chest that's part of the tent multi graphic that served as the single secure chest back when tents were available as player housing. Gypsies should be running on normal NPC loot tables.

Thats it the gypsies should have the normal loot , not stacks of gems or regs.
Not even the new rare or checks.

Those items are supposed to be in the 2 chest or barrel that spawn...

So i am wondering if there was a error in the programing for this?..

Unless its part of Messanas evil plans to take over Britania , by killing of the gypsies first.

I can't change the color of moonstones. I get a message:
"You are unable to discover how to use the stone."

I tried it on a GM mage, and a 110 mage.

The actual moonstones dont work anymore, they're nothing more than a look alike of a pumice, lol. They havent worked in years.

to my knowledge there has only been the one found and it was on the corpse! so we dont know for sure if it will spawn in the chest

I tried killing gypsies in fel On my mage/myst char. any spell I cast on them nothing happened. They just walked around like no one even attacked them.
I tried evs, and RC they wouldn't even attack the gypsies.

you dont need to be a lockpicker to open those chests...i use the magic unlock spell and i havent come across a gypsy chest i can unlock yet

Silver, except the bauble on the end (the round tip), it changes color with the facet changes while the rest of the earrings stay Silver in color.

When I found the bracelet it was already blue colored inside the loot box...

Just to help give a figure, I have a small house that there is always at least 2 camps within a screen of it, I also have a pile of gold sitting at 48,000. The gold was looted from the corpses alone and not the chests, so far... nothing! not even a check =(

Not complaining because it's really fun

If I ever get a check or anything I'll let you know how much gold is there, I think it averages 60ish gold per kill. so far that's about 800 kills... Yes I have a lot of time on my hands

We had a storyline going about the persecution of gypsies by the Oppression government. The war still continues with those oppression agents who are still out there! Would it be amiss if the good guys release unicorns where the gypsies spawn to help protect them?

Do you need to kill blues gypsies to obtain these or can you steal from them? I know stealing is still an act of extreme selfishness, but in my karmic view of things, it still beats killing someone for something.

There is something else I wanted to mention, however. You might hate the fact that you have to kill blue NPCs for this, but shouldn't it be that way? This is a fantastic moral dilemma for UO players. Some players don't bother with that sort of thing and just want items, which is fine. That's one playstyle. If you are a roleplayer, however, do you have evil characters who would have no compunctions about seizing what they want? And if you only roleplay good characters, perhaps you could obtain one of these through trade and RP returning it to the family that it truly belongs to, even if the original owner was slain. In the end, this addition should teach more about the anti-virtue of coveting items than anything else. For my own part, I'm trying to come up with a storyline for our guild fiction that would best demonstrate this.

1. Only 2 person mentioned finding something special and both killed the gypsy to get it - so it might be in the chest also, and it might be stealable, but so far only looting the corpse is a comfirmed method of aquiring it.

2. I decided that i will kill gypsies, but only with my red mage and only the ones spawning in front of my castle. She's the type of character who would kill peasant lingering on her lawn. So yeah, you can roleplay it, even tho i'm not a big roleplayer usually. It simply feels kinda wrong to encourage the killing of innocent blue NPCs (even without the whole gypsy genocide stuff - let's not go there)
