Some confusing events to a Returning Player

I was playing on Siege the other night after being out of the game for quite a while and a guy killed me when I ran up to a Moongate. I was at full health at the time and he was standing there and killed me with one shot of a spell that I didn't think to check the name of. He then used para field to immobilize me and I belive he might have switched accounts while I was immoble and come back with a different character. He came over to me and I figured he'd had his fun and wanted to rez me so I went to attack mode so he could see me. He rezzed me and immediately killed me again. After killing me he tried to rez me again but I declined. He kept trying and it got annoying so I ran to the east. He followed me and tried to rez me about 10 or 12 times as I ran. This got rather annoying because I was stopped each time to refuse the rez.

So I get to thinking about this and a few questions came to mind.

I was running up to the moongate and he was standing there so how did he target me and cast such a powerful spell that quick before I got to the gate?

What spell can kill a player that has over 100 health with 1 shot?

How could this guy cast Rez when he was running and cast it on me so fast that I couldn't run away without him hitting me with it 15 times?

When he cast Rez I was 10 paces from him. Don't you have to be right next to a person to Rez them?

After the initial rez I went out of attack mode so he wouldn't see me but he kept casting on me. I guess he still had me targetted for the previous cast? But how did he know where I was the first time when he ran right up to me and I wasn't in attack mode?

Could he have killed you with one hit because you had really low resists?

GM or higher spirit speak will let players see ghosts even when they aren't in war mode.


Everything else, I dunno.

My resists were low. Could he have done more than 100 damage with some spell because I had low resists?

I'm glad you took a passive view to the whole encounter. I wish more players had your type of temperament.

I don't know of a single spell that would kill you, but if timed right, Explosion, Spell Plague and maybe a magic arrow will all hit at the same time and do a TON of damage.

the 15 rez attempts on the run, not sure. If it happens again, wait it out and head thru the moongate, He will not know where you went.

Did he dismount?

Cuz his usual thing is to cast Paralyze, dismount and sick dreadmare on people. And if the dread gets you with low resists you would drop fairly quick.

Last target and luck would explain the res. Fc/fcr might make it look like he's casting on the run. Sure it was only one spell though? Combination with explosion and another spell hitting you at the same time might make it look like a single spell.

More importantly, how is your connection to the shard? You lagging?

I wasn't lagging at all when these things happened and it wasn't an npc healer. Good points though. I actually had a great connection. I did go through the gate to Brit at one point and come back a minute or 2 later and he was still there. I think maybe he couldn't loot my corpse because he had switched accounts and didn't have looting rights. Thats why I tried to draw him off to the east. I came through the gate with my other account while he was being a horses ___ and looted my corpse with my other character.

Incorrect. Anyone on Siege can loot a player's corpse, regardless of who killed them. You proved it yourself by looting your first acct's corpse with a secondary acct...
