as rare a drop as these are, that seems pretty unlikely. If there are really 10s of pairs of sandals on a single vendor, then it looks like another duped item to me.

I dont think they are all that rare. I got 4 in one week ... 4 out of 7 coins.
Might have just been luck, I dont know.
SA has been out awhile, what if someone has done a coin a day, per char, per shard times 2 or 3 accounts? Plus buy all the cheap pairs along the way? Could be possible.

You can actually do 2 coins at a time if you stack them, so 14 coins a day per account. But I have tossed 50 easily and haven't got a pair (all with the same character just to see if your chance builds up like w/ virtue drops). I had to buy mine from a guildie. Unless they have 10 accounts and farm coins all day every day for the past couple of months, then my assumption would be dupe.

Why is it everyone cries dupe if someone has more of something then some of us?
I have 2 accounts, I drop 7 coins per account times 12 shards.. thats 168 coins day.... tell me that its not possible =/

so far since I started doing it with both accounts, all chars and all US shards, I've gotten 15 pairs and I didnt start doing it until 2 weeks ago.. before that I just did it every now and then with one or two chars
Don't need a new dupe. There has been a way to dupe for years that they can't or wont fix. I don't know how to do it. But I know it exists.
You can actually do the coins twice a day [once per 12 hours] so for me thats 28 coins a day and iv been doing it for over 5 weeks now [28 x (5 x 7) = 980] and the drop rate is bang on 12% for me [ 980 x 0.12% = 117] Not including the few days iv missed doing it.
Iv easily had 100 pairs as i stated in another thread they have been selling fast of my vendor for 15-20mill a day, now there down to 9'999'999 and still selling well.
Easy enough to do if you can find the coins cheep, iv found a couple of vendors well stocked @ 250k per.
EDIT* Thats just on the one server i play on! An on that the drop rate on the Gemologist's satchet is 7%!

6m on europa in the Bluewolf trader shop in luna city. So in a few weeks, maybe months, these sandals worth 1m max...

Was the spawn rate for the sandals increased? I was actively hunting for lucky coins and tossed a lot in maybe for the first two months after SA's release. Then I stopped because I figured I would never get the sandals. Now I see them on a lot of vendors all of a sudden.

Nice explanation, but seems highly questionable and you know it..... same vendors that sell the 100+ sandals, have tons of new SA content stuff for sale.
I wonder how they manage to find the time to farm it all
highly questionable..... my advice.. if sandals are so damn easy to get in the fountain, throw on your goblin tali and farm your own coins to toss till you get a pair.. then you know without question they aren't duped!

Don't Lucky coins drop as loot by killing stuff in the underworld ? (http://www.uoguide.com/Fountain_of_Fortune)
If one kills and kills and kills and kills some more, more than 1 lucky coin can be available per day per character.

Hey, i didnt whine about it. i asked what they were and if it was a dupe as id not seen them before.
Not my fault if the thread turns into another moan about scripting, just shows its still a problem and not getting resolved.

On 3 of the shards I play, yes. On the rest no. I have one char on each shard that can hunt and kill monsters. I use that char to collect the coins, distribute the coins to the other chars, then I take the others down and drop the coins. *shrugs* pretty simple really.
If I really really wanted to, I could upgrade my 3rd account and do the same thing, but as it is, 2 accounts consumes enough time already.
LOL So because a website says its once per day that means there right!!
Go test it yourself, iv been doing it twice a day [every 12 hours] for weeks now

It's a good idea to note how UO fansites get their info.
A) It comes from the uoherald.com (and even they have a lot of bad info)
B) It comes straight from the Devs' mouths (keyboards)
C) We (the players) gather the info by testing and seeing what happens.
---I.e. our info is highly fallible.
Be aware: uoguide.com has lots of bad info, uo.stratics.com has lots of bad info, uoherald.com has lots of bad info.
Never trust 100% any website. What works in UO is the only way to know for sure.
I work about 3 hours to get 7 coins - in 50 coins I got my first pair of shoes. I think it just who is luckier then whom... I love them! I am currently working on pair number 2... I have never seen a scripter in the entire time working to farm coins... just folks like me trying to get their daily dose of coins.

The coins were also put in to replace the 3.0 SOTs in the puzzle room [not sure if it was turned off or changed back to SOTs] so most of the coins that were about [they seem to be drying up now] probably came from people doing the puzzle everyday on all there chars across all servers.
