Another note I haven't heard yet is what if players with more game time get better treatment? I mean If you have 10 accounts with 10 years a piece attached and another player has 1 account with 6 months would EA see a difference as to drop rates and or other niceties?
They can't even fix half of what is going on, what makes you think they could implement a system that would give 10 year vets preferential treatment? Not that I wouldn't be against such a system
although I'd rather have a discount on payments and something that would allow me to consolidate my accounts into one payment every month instead of scattered throughout.
Honestly, I have used the internet and its resources in nearly full anonymity for most of my adult life. This switch and face book and other culprits are removing piece by piece the very thing that keeps this place an open and free exchange of ideas!
How did this switch remove your anonymity? Is your email address being revealed in-game now? Is it in your profile?
And nothing says you have to link all of your accounts - there are instructions in the other threads about avoiding linking them or getting them unlinked if you went and linked them all.
While this instance isnt a travesty by any means, but is in fact on some accounts a boon, it is in part, a march against internet rights and that is shameful!
How is giving anybody the chance to link their accounts a march against internet rights, and where exactly are these internet rights listed?
This is what I want from the new accounting system:
1) Not to be overcharged up to $600 like I was under the old system over the last decade+
2) Inactive houses to fall
3) MyUO to work a lot better than in the past
4) Account age to work
5) The doing away of uogamecodes.com and adding of that content into the new account management stuff. All of the major in-game problems that people had after the accounting people switched us to the new system seemed to be tied to character slots, gametime, upgrades, etc. purchased through uogamecodes.com so obviously a lot uogamecodes stuff was ****ing people up.
At least with #1, if it happened again, it would be easier to fix, although I've never had a problem with Store.EA.com, including Stygian Abyss and High Seas upgrades I've bought. Speaking of that, let me easily upgrade Stygian Abyss and High Seas from within Account Management - don't make me go into the main Origin.com or uogamecodes.com, offer me a discounted price from within account management.
There is no reason for #2 not to happen now. They've done a full sweep of the system, they activated all inactive accounts and then deactivated them, and so should be able to run a database query that puts all houses tied to inactive accounts into decay.
#3 and #4 don't exactly go together, but they promised #4, and given that MyUO went down for a while and then all of the sudden they announce an accounting system upgrade for UO, Camelot, and Warhammer that is supposed to better track everything, it seems like it could be related.
#5 Given how many problems people have had with uogamecodes.com, it's time to do away with it. The accounting system is supposed to better, so do away with codes and just let me buy whatever I want within the account management system, and let me toggle whichever account I want it delivered on, and then give me a gump within the game.
I maybe asking for a lot, but it's not really all that much when you think about what's been done.
I know there is no excuse for uogamecodes.com to remain anymore. Under the EA/Origin.com accounting system, there is a way to buy all kinds of stupid little crap for their Pogo and Facebook games in micro-transactions.
