So sick of making money

Okay, I've heard the news, so made money all weekend, AFTER making money to try to get somewhere. That's ALL I have done basically in this game. I''m sorry, that is not acceptable. I've been with this game since Dec of 2002, and yes I know there have been bots, but outside the direct exploit they didn't really do that much more than people working their butts off (and YES I have SEEN people play this game 12+ hours to do this), and that is the truth. I've witnessed at least one great pizza team, and NO BOTS, make a really good payout. I spend my days off trying desperately to make money, so I could be ready for this 3K whatever they are planning, so I can try to keep making a bit to finish up my propery, but now... I'm not sure it is worth it. If that is the ONLY solution a bunch of computer experts could come up with then all I can say is that it is sad. Some of us wanted this game to go back to enjoyment - building, having talent and other shows, contests, games, mazes... if all we can do is make money to TRY to get somewhere then what is this? Real life?

I think I need to just get offline before I'm sick of this whole thing and drop several accounts - mine, my wife's, my kids.....

(edited for a stupid typo, anymore that I missed then to heck with it, I'm bored with making MONEY, or skilling my 5th, 6th, 7th, or 8th sim so they can do nothing since I can't bring them in with the other older sims)

I agree.

They have turned the game from fun (making loads of money quickly rather than sitting at a computer for days on end) to something hard.

The Sims was a fun game, its now turned into a difficult game. Even some of the violent games aren't as difficult, you speed through those games.

The invention of crafting is just out of the question these days. I'm afraid the turning over of the Sims Online won't make it last another 5 years. It'll be gone one day, there were other options on how to make the game fun again, this wasn't one. They stated they were making it fun again, but it's just not.

i agree who cares if everyone becomes trillioniars as long as we are paying our 10 dollars a month why should it matter i dont think its the bots thats causing all of this i think the pay rates drop because of the atm machines and if anyone from ea reads this please add more fun things to take us away from making money let get some of the other house catagorys opened up

This is nothing like the days back when TSO 1st started. I had a blast back then and that was the reason I kept coming back. But i'll stick it out for the love of the game.

I need to add one more thing. I'm sorry, I can't do CC. It's all I can do to get some time off from real life job to play a bit, and that is what I would LIKE to do - PLAY. I have bought plenty of CC, but I can't make it. Sorry, but that isn't enough. I wanted interaction with this game, fun things, but everyone is out trying to make money. TRY to run a club without paying people or something else Devs. Just tell me - if this is about that, then please say so, and I will quit bothering.

Edit to last post: I love the game too, or I wouldn't still be here, but WHERE is the GAME? Do you see people having lots anything but straight money, skill or shop get anywhere at ALL? The entertainment was supposed to do that, but how can people do that when they need to spend their online time making the all precious buck (whatever the heck ya wanna call it).

I'm sorry, Disturbed, but I didn't mean to give the impression that I didn't care if people made so much money that it screwed over other players (to the point that they bouthgt up somany rares, and all the other things we saw) . I just don't think what the Devs are doing is anything to help the average player, which again I would bet is their main player base. Not ALL of us can stay on ungodly hours, and I'll bet that there are a lot of us out there. To the point that the exploit did, but not EVERYONE are botters. I don't approve of botters, but I do say that normal players CAN do what they do, or better, and it isn't fair to screw them over because these computer experts can't handle the challenge of dealing with them. OR screwing over the normal player, like me, who only wants to play, build a house, and be able to offer some fun stuff for other sims. Oh, excuse me, Avatars. I know they want an economy, and that's great, but they need to remember WHY a lot of us are even still here - they need to remember the original game, even if they don't acknowledge it.

Then thats means they have to admit that we are still part of the TSO community. TSO is what they are trying to get away from. I'm guessing from their point of view that this is a completely new game when in fact it's not. Just TSO revamped-buggy style.

Then why ask people to come back, or those that love this game to stay? What IS the game that will be?

Evil I don't have the answer for that. The only think I can of is that they were hoping everything would have been up and running fine before anyone would have realized. Or that those that were coming back or stayed would have the want to stay thru no matter was going on. I just don't know.

I have to say this, and this will be my last post tonight. I asked a friend to return to the game, saying they could get their stuff back, and there was CC to ENJOY, and other things to come. They stayed a bit, and are already sick of the way things are going because they can't make enough to even buy a lot, much less furnish it unless they find a store selling merge stuff (which they can NOT restock btw with the prices), and so I never see them. I probably won't. That's sad.

In regards to my last post - WHERE is this game REALLY heading? You don't have to totally change the game to stay away from the name Sims Online. But what I meant was the reasoning behind so many have stayed with this game so long.

Night folks. I am still hoping, but they are dieing each day, and it's harder to see the charge on my card every month, knowing that there isn't as much fun as it is frustration in the game anymore. I WANT to help, but I'm just your average Joe.

Hell, I waited 4 plus YEARS to manage to get an island. What kind of fool am I?

That is the best question yet!! I came back after a two and a half year absence to find everything was deleted, my lot, my rares and even my sims (It's a sim to me and always will be!) I told myself, well they must be adding some great stuff then so I will pay the subscription price for two accounts again and see what happens.

First of all, rebuilding my skill house I once had proved to be harder than ever with the payouts like they were. And then to find the pizza payouts were lowered right in the middle of building, made it so frustrating I wanted to break down in tears on many occasions. Ok, I got the skill house built and opened it.....well come to find out, we dont get visitor bonus or any other kind of help to keep a good skill house open to sims. I had to resort to using a tip jar just to fill the fridge to feed hungry skillers! I despise tip jars with a passion!!

And now there is a cap on how much we can make? This isnt real life, its a game and should be enjoyable and fun!!!! It should also be an escape from the troubles and hardship that real life shells out from day to day for a little while. We as players shouldnt have to struggle everyday just to make ends meet like we are.

Yes - I would really like to know what the plan is? What can we do with that little money? How can you craft? How can you build? Seriously - the only solution would be to use the ATM's - so is that what it's about? I really would like to know?

I'm so sick of having to use the ATM. Honestly, my PayPal limit is well...limited since I don't have a bank account. I'm still trying to find out if you can have more than one PayPal account. Heck, with the ATM, I've given EA more money per month for the game than ever. They're making a bundle off of us.

That is their ultimate goal, for us to run to the ATM when we are stuck with no money to do anything.
Land prices are so expensive because they want someone to go to the ATM to withdraw money to buy it.
They want to get away from Catalog items, and purely have CC used to furnish your house, or anything. Thats why they are pushing this " buy CC and your credits will go back up".
Sounds more like SL everyday now doesn't it? And I know someone out there will go and explain the difference between SL and EAland and the money market. But if I can take $3000 in rl money and buy an island in SL, and now in EAland to buy a property I need to exchange rl dollars to whatever the money will be called to get a plot of land, I don't see much difference in that.
The real question is going to be, if as a average joe are you going to be able to financially play this game the way EA thinks it should be played? I for one won't be able too.

And yet they have this bs on the ea site

In mid 2007, a team was assembled to create a game based on a re-engineered The Sims Online architecture. After months of ongoing hard work, we can say proudly that we have been successful and we have made this game fun again!

Before it even starts in this thread I just want to say:
If I hear one more person defend this mess by saying it's in the beta stages I think I might just shut this PC down and take up RL crafting. Nothing is in the future plan for higher payouts. As a matter of fact the plan now is to control how much we can make in a certain period of time. Dang, in that case, I may as well forget about finishing my home. I still can't get over the cost of that split rail fence. I keep seeing posts about how the money is being calculated for the economy. All it sounds like to me is a plan to jump in that pool and swim to the nearest ATM and then all my problems will be solved. Sorry EA but I won't be using that ugly green machine called an ATM for buying or selling simoleans.

It is certainly not like when I started playing. I also will tough it out, just because I love this game (and want to see what happens). I for one will be here until the day comes if/when they shut down the game.
