This vendor has a ton of B-Kits... Is it possible they are, duped? I am just throwing it out there, I never bought a kit and noticed that, perhaps I am wrong?

So just bought a B-Kit... Is this normal?

This vendor has a ton of B-Kits... Is it possible they are, duped? I am just throwing it out there, I never bought a kit and noticed that, perhaps I am wrong?

I believe its a code bug,I have gotten similar messages while purchasing repair deeds from vendors,I highly doubt people dupes repair deeds,Bkits are another story tho.Its not unusual however,sometimes vendors do that weird stuff.
I did buy a B-Kit, not a repair deed...
Id be surprised if they are dupes... would figure more or less with the way BoDs can be turned in for a new one instantly... scripting bods is what's most likely happening.You maybe Topsy Krett but it's no se-cret 80% of what you see out there are dupes.
Enjoy them. Try to buy the cheap ones too.Not much else to do, just like with any other form of cheating which has taken over UO.
First, the house you are showing doesn't have that vendor so please let that be know. The vendor house in that pic is known for fair deals and the owner doesn't tolerate dupes. The vendor you are showing in the darken name tag belongs to a known dupe one that spans across many shards in a house that isn't far from the one in your picture. I don't want to see good people hurt here.
I apologize that the house in the pic is shown/vendor names as well... It isn't from there or those people/vendors, I just happened to run south a few steps and took the screeny cause I thought I saw something odd when I bought the B-Kit...

You're right RaiN, it is probably from scripting. Dupe was the wrong word to have used.

So I believe there is currently a bug in the code. It didn't happen on every item I bought from this vendor, but c'mon who dupes plain campions then sells them for 100 gold? That's what I purchased and got this error.
And, thank you, Topsy, for clarifying the vendor house shown is NOT where you made the purchase. Like Oriana, I know the owner of the house shown, and she will not tolerate anything questionable on the vendors there.

And im just trying to help,Captain America.But read again,its a bug in the code that has been around for a while,and doesnt necesarily afect everyone
The tag 1_leather_type calls a language text file that brings up the word "barbed' if you are using English language. Someone over at EA probably added some new tags in one of the patches and QA failed to notice things were not quite right. I know it is more fun to speculate, but it really is common for programmers to see this kind of thing every day. Sometimes things slip by even the best.

While I understand your frustration with the 'generalization' of duping fears, it is an equal disservice to the community to mock those who see duping as a widespread problem.
Both problems stem from the simple fact that it is beyond the ability of the average player to reliably detect duped items; it is often only the scale of an operation that allows the community at large to deduce that a player is duping. Ultimately, only those who 'run the show' have the power to truly address the problem. Being powerless - as the average player is - tends to enhance fears and superstition...knowing that, you might cut people who 'scream dupe' a little more slack.
heh, that happens. little textual coding errors are the legacy of UO. You see them everywhere and it's no big deal because they fix them rapidly. A dupe won't appear suspicious, it's the exact same item as the original. There is no difference in the code so you should never expect a dupe to behave in the manner you are worried about.
