I was stupid. I had someone I thought I could trust half a year ago help me decorate. They of course log on now to loot half my house (They had locked the items down I guess).

I cant even wrap my head around everything I lost...If anyone has any pictures of my house id appreciate it.

I'm sick and tired of my friends being ripped off because they go and trust someone. I'll say it again, don't trust ANYONE with that kind of access... EVER! PS: You don't give out real information about yourself either. Such as your last name, where you live, birthday, etc. All of these things can be used to compromise your account. The email linked to your EA account names should be an email address you don't give to ANYONE. You should have a different password to each one of your UO accounts. The password to your email should NEVER match one of the password's to your UO accounts. Never setup stupid easy security questions based upon real information for your email, and UO accounts. If you're able to, you should make your own question's and the answer's should never match real personal information of yours. Now for the password itself: The password should have both capital and lower case letters mixed in along with numbers and even symbol's if it'll allow you to use them. Also, this password should never patch anything personal about yourself that someone might know.

I havent been very active in UO for awhile - Items were taken around 1-2 weeks ago.
Only ONE person had access to my house (Friend/coowner)
Only ONE person had come and help me Deco (By helping me lock stuff down and decorate)
The ONLY items taken were the items the other person had locked down
This ONLY person is conveniently "last online" on icq to me around a day before it happened
This ONLY person also conveniently is no longer a facebook friend around the time this happened
The items ARE being sold by people in the SAME guild as this person

So for this person to be telling people "They didnt do it"

Well, i just want to share something about house security. I just tested it just to know if its still working as before.

1) I coowned a friend on one of my houses.
2) My friend used "i wish to secure this" on a box with items and on a weapon item on the floor, he didnt changed the access on the box so its "owner only". (this means, he can open the box and I can open it too, because im the house owner)
3) I removed him as a CoOwner, booted him from the house and since house its public he did enter the house again (when u enter in a house, the house check the access you have and gives you the corresponding security access)
4) Since he doesnt have any kind of access, he can't use the "retrieve" option on the box or on the weapon (retrieve option comes from the context menu when u single click any item on a house) and he can't open the box.
5) Now the fun part (not really, not fun), I gave him Friend access.
6) He can open the box (it was secured as "Owner Only" and UO still keeps a record that he was the original owner so it makes kinda? sense that even being a friend of the house he can access a SECURED box.
7) He can't use retrieve option on the box but he CAN use retrieve option on the weapon and get it instantly on his backpack.
8) If, on step 5, I give friend access to another character of my friends same ACCOUNT, he still can do the steps 6 and 7 on his other char.

Bug or Feature? who knows.. im sure not even the devs knows how it should supposed to work.

Reality is, like Petra said before, after someone does secure or lock down items on your house, if you want to make sure they cant claim these items you NEED to release all of them and secure/lockdown them using your account.

Removing a coowner/friend of the house doesnt remove the ownership of the items that person secured or locked down in your house. In fact, you could think you are safe because you do remove all of yours coowners but if that person gets friend access on another character of the same account then that person will have the same ownership access to the items he did secured or locked down.
