The sad thing is, it's totally believable to anyone who's been paying even the tiniest bit of attention for the last two years - really the last year has been the worst, starting with the 10th anniversary being a joke, Christmas presents being repeats, the KR client being abandoned half done, Stygian Abyss still nowhere in sight a year after it was supposed to launch, boring and repetitive kill everything in sight events that drag on for months, and next to no official communication from the team. Now the eleventh anniversary slips by silently.

Eleven years and EA's mismanagement have not been kind to UO. I am deeply saddened... I come back every few months and hope that someone at EA will wake the hell up and save the game. But things only get worse and worse.

Here's the hardcore 1% lobbying for crap again. Probably 99% of UO couldn't tell you when the game's "birthday" even is, but according to the lobbyists here it will be a travesty to ring throughout the ages if we don't get some 11th year cookies or some crap in our packs.

Don't need an excuse - I wasn't criticizing him for continuing to play the game. I was criticizing him for making (inaccurate, even) excuses for EA, and getting in the way of legitimate grievances. You've conflated the two concepts.

I've played every other MMO that's come out since day one of UO, along with the guild I've been in since 1997. I'm playing WAR right now. I return to UO on occasion to poke around, determine the state of the game, in the hopes that it's improved and is worth my money again - the way you go to a restaurant you had bad experiences in when they get a new chef. Which is precisely what I said in my post.

Not sure about everyone posting here but for me just an acknowledgement, a celebration of UO would be nice. "Woohoo! UO is 11 years old. Come to Lord British' Castle at 7:00 pm and Join the Festivities in Celebration of our 11th Year in the Land of Britannia!"

Well I guess this is just really disappointing. There are many players that don't even read stratics or uoherald and would completely miss that this is the birthday of UO.

No in game announcement, gift, even a whisper about it. This is a huge community event for UO to be turning 11 years old, and would be a great opportunity to do something to bring people together for one moment to celebrate this achievement.

But alas, I will ride off again by myself and go do something else, since nothing else in the game is bringing people together.

I wondered why there was no mention of the 11th anniversarry. very sad, but what have we seen from the dev team lately? Just an extreamly long break up in a story line, that has been dredgeing on far far far far far far far far far far far to long....we should have seen some resolution, some development, something of some sort in reguards to the story line in up right now. what ever happen to blackrock, inu , threads of life ect., enemys, and the murdered council???

SERIOUSLY this dev team needs to pump something out, me thinks one of there problems might be there unwillingness to ever set a date on anything giving them no obligation to try to meet anything such as a deadline. Therefore expansions, publishes, fixxes, end up coming out after you have forgot everything that has happened prior

And while im on the subject, Can i get one thing answered for me here?
Was the current story line in uo ever wrote out befor being started, was there a start, a middle, and an end in mind .....or was this whole string of events from inu, to maginicia, new haven, black rock , threads , voids, all things you just came up with as you went along?
Has there been any end planned out at all?

I'm assuming that the current event will lead us to the SA expansion. I know the ophid evasion started a couple months before the SA expansion was announced over a year and a half ago and the storyline was going along pretty good, but then when the merge and move was announced and the SA expansion seemed dead the storyline pretty much stopped. Storyline started back up late spring and shortly afterwards they announced that there is going to be an SA expansion after all. Just my thoughts.
