I had a break sunday. I took my cart and mining from different characters. Built up a new character for treasure hunting. Of course I forgot to put 50 lock picking on but thats another story.

I took 80 magery from another characture and add jewelry so I can open level 2 chests.

The maps are somewhat hard to pinpoint so i just stuck to Malas. I bought 48 maps for 3k each. In luna yes. All level 2 so my mage can open them.

I did 6.
2 vines.
SA regs always 2.
10k in gold.
Some scrolls.

I can only imagine what higher chests a yeilding. Im not complaining but how long is it before the merchants realize the tons of money coming out of chests and start uping the map prices. Or how long before a great change saturates the market with a bizzion vines, scrolls, and new relics.

My point. I know rarity vs common get is a gripe on the board. But come on. Another month I say t-hunting is saturated with all the new stuff.

Should some things be hard?

Vines where worthless on day one, IMO. Talismans, with the exception of the LRC one, are worthless I believe. Shields with the mana regen are handy if you die, res and need a quick mana boost but otherwise worthless. Sash's I have yet to use but can only imagine that at 50 charges they are of limited use.

The only thing I bothered with are the pardons, imbuing stuff and was excited about the 6 mod items but they seem bland at best. Lots of effort placed in here and it was all nice but I think it missed the mark. When you can do a level 6 chest and get better items of the spawn something is wrong.

certain house styles, I like using vines to decorate the exterior walls. not as useless as one might expect, altho I can foresee some market flooding periodically.

Sadly flooding or not flooding there price is never worth the effort unless they just come as a side effect of your real goal.

Level 6 chest will always yield an arti, unless of course you blow it up. I will say after I scroll to the bottom of the chest to see what arti there is and see what's on top of the chest I can pretty much guarantee all the stuff in the middle is crap. But I still look who knows what might slip past. I will keep doing them though. I enjoy it now than ever before. I like the fact they put the Hunt back in T-Hunting.

Try looking at things from a different perspective.
Vines are nice deco and cool things to get from a chest, more junk = more monsters to fight as you empty the chest. I open a chest with the thought 'I wonder what's going to be in this one'.

Think more 'cool stuff' and 'fun to do' and less 'how much can I sell it for?'

This is the healthy attitude. :thumbup1:

Any massive overhaul is followed (often preempted) by a fad of character builds and opportunist selling. This is usually coupled with complaints that the items are both too rare and too common.

All that's really needed to keep Treasure Hunting fresh for the people who actually enjoy the playstyle is to roll these additions out one at a time over a longer period. You wouldn't get a fad mentality over one new shield or a piece of deco, no monoculture of treasure hunters.

A professional overhaul approach tends to hammer flat the diversity among players. A major update should appeal to a broader range of players. They should be able to make of it what they will with what they have, rather than necessarily funnel their efforts into one area.
