Smuggler's Edge Information

I have several reports stating the Smuggler's Edge is not working properly. What I need to know is specific details because there are restrictions such as:

1. You cannot use a shield
2. You do not have to use the stealing skill
3. You can only steal from the mob once
4. The edge needs to be equipped

We have tried several things and cannot reproduce this, so any additional information on this would be great.

I haven't had any of the messages above but was wondering when my character (with 120 real skill stealing) equips the blade to kill monsters, I get the message that I'm "trying" to steal something but doesn't get anything which I suppose was the stealing chance that hits but fails? Is that normal? I thought with 120 real skill u don't tend to fail at stealing? ...

ok here what ive found out i play on the pacific shard i have 2 thiefs one set up for the smugglers. he has 120 stealing and swords in a half hour of using the smugglers at the sleepy dragon spawn in tokuno i obtained the following.7 minor potions,1 pinky a .1 in hiding, 4 various potions lotions and balms and 1 smugglers tool box and lost 4 points in durability in the knife. went to old way which is steal from mob, arm blade and kill said monster after stealing from them to have fresh victim. in 10 minutes of using that method i have tripled what i have gotten in a half hour in 10 minutes NOT using the smugglers and even got a lantern... so Imo timer on stealing for the smugglers to actually steal is way off.. in comparison of doing it manually with out the knife and i get way more goodies ....glad this post came out i dont have to waste durability no more on my smugglers till it is fixed, ill go back to old way of doing it i use the potions lotion and balms every day so getting them is part of my game experience! Hope this helps....

Ok..... using the EC 120 stealing, no shield, no mount... 120 swords... GM anat and tactics.... using the Spirt spawn of shadow wisps and wisps..... 1 hour of trying I hardly EVER saw the message I was attempting to take something from the pack.... and got 2 balms.. that's it.

My thief has 112.4 real stealing and I have not noticed any problems with the smuggler's edge. I regularly receive the balms, lanterns and smuggler's tools. Sometimes I can go a long stretch without getting anything and then get several items in a short time. That's not unusual.

I tried it on char without stealing and I worn it down 3 times and repaired and never saw a balm, lantern or tools. I would get the message and only ever got gold or spell scrolls. I tested it at 3 different champ spawns so it seems if you don't have stealing on your template don't bother using it.

I've been using it for the past month haven't gotten a lantern or anything other then what I could normally steal gold mage scrolls gems regs. Takes a couple hits before it'll attempt to steal. There wasn't any difference when I took stealing off. Samething.

I have used it on and off for 2 weeks in several fel dungeons, just stealthing around the champ areas. I have 120 real stealing, and 120 real fencing... I have not had one item appear in my pack. I get the message that I successfully steal an item, but see nothing... I am assuming its gold?

It was only 5 bucks, but I wont be buying another one!

I got one when it first came out (didn't use it much at first) and about a month or 2 ago I gave it to my fisherman because its blessed, he seem to like to take dirt naps a lot. I have never received 1 item from using it not 1 well to be fair it works good on fish to make fish steaks ha...

I bought 2 for my thiefs... that was months ago. No info on how to use it sooo they rot in a box till I ether find a guide on how to use them or they sit in the museum as useless items.
