Can you stealth without hiding skill? I mean can I raise stealth then drop hiding and use invis from magery and then stealth around?

No you need both.

You have to have enough hiding to actually use stealth. I'm thinking it's like 50 hiding. You'll just be revealed when the spell runs out. I'm not sure how detect or tracking would work against it.
But it works with invis. Unless it was changed at some point.
But you can invis then actually use the hiding skill. If you succeed You'll you don't have to worry about the spell expiring.
If you fail then you'll become visible.
Then just invis again and wait for the cool down to expire.
Kind of a pain but you pretty much succeed 50% of the time at minimal hiding.

If you invis and try to stealth without hiding you will just fail.

I just tried to stealth with no hiding and I invised... I got the message...You are not hidden well enough become better at hiding so No you cannot stealth without the hiding skill

Ahh ok was trying to find out how people got that skill into their templates. Sometimes just seems I just push to much on 1 toon. Would like to stealth to where I want to fight

I ran a mix of real skill and jewelry skill up until recently.

Magery 95 +26 (jewelry)
Eval 74 +26
Med 74 +26
Resist 67 +26
Hide 100
Stealth 80
Swaps 230

The Magery left him with GM Mage Weapon skill at his best cheap imbuing. The 80 Stealth usually kept him hid while moving and Animal Form would bring him up to GM for getting back to his body. The 230 Swap spot got whatever other skills seemed handy.

You can really get away with only 75 stealth in leather/mage armor. Just sayin'. You have to have 100 hiding or do not bother. There were times I wished I had 120 stealth... So I have that skill level too.

I now have Stealth powerscrolled to 120 and have it locked at 97 due to running out of real skill points, and can Animal Form to 117 or jewelry to 120. I haven't had him revealed or suddenly visible since the upgrade.
