Where is Skaros? The report of Sparrow. Duke of Moonglow.
After speaking to Heckles I made my way to Skaros watchtower and searching there I found the golden book he mentioned. The golden book titled 'The Black Cat' (also a book by the noted writer Edgar Allen Poe) is actually a teleport to another location,it transported me to Skaros bedroom
There I found Mariah the Maid who mumbled about cleaning the bedroom and stating the bed had not been slept in, she was puzzled about Skaros current location. On the table was a copy of Skaros 'To Do' list.
1. pick up papers at the Customs office in Britain.
2. look up spell at the Encyclopedia Magicka in Trinsic.
First things first, so I visited the Customs Office. There I found Manuel the Customs Agent and when I asked about Skaros he informed me that Skaros had indeed been there a few days ago inquiring about BLANK identity papers. He also informed me that he only gives out new papers in cases of Birth or theft UNLESS you are an Investigator. Apparently he had given some to Skaros as he is known to be the Head Investigator and probably needed them for a secret mission. He went on to say that Skaros left to go to the first Library.
I followed in Skaros footsteps and went to the first Library. Searching the library I found one further Golden book, this, also a book by Edgar Allen Poe, was in fact another teleport. This took me to Jhelom Library and two further books, both titled as Poe stories, again they are both teleports. One returns you to the First Library the other takes you to the Paladins Library in Trinsic. In the bookcase where you arrive yet another Poe title returns you to Jhelom Library and searching the bookcases there I found nothing apart from what appears to be an old treatise by Luther concerning the Mists of Yew. Perhaps it is just a simple way to travel quickly to Trinsic. I therefore returned to Jhelom to search further there. On arrival I talked to Armstrong the Archivist who told me that Skaros calls there often to look through old reports. He suggested I go downstairs and look round the Royal Investigators Archives for myself. This I did, in one bookcase I found 'The Premature Burial' this took me to the Office of Jordan Jurrel but a search there revealed nothing to aid me. 'The Pit and the Pendulum' took me to Lord British Castle where once again I found little to help me. It would seem these books are just a quick way for Skaros to move around unseen. 'The Purloined Letter' is a route to a room in Yew Prison. In the last bookcase was a copy of 'The Masque of the Red Death', this appears to be the means of travel to inside the Councillors Guild. A search here revealed two further books, The first 'The Haunted Palace' transports you to a hidden Royal Investigators Secret Headquarters and adjacent to where you arrive is a secret passage which returns you to the Councillors Hall.
I explored this region which was certainly a revelation to me, a Sergeant of the Royal Investigators. This is an extensive area and it looks like Skaros must have long had his own agenda to arrange for this to be built. His own little Kingdom almost. It is interesting that he has chosen the works of Poe, an acknowledged Master of the Macabre as the apparent titles of these teleports. There is a large Meeting Hall, an armourers, a cryptographers room, and, and, here I could not believe my eyes in a cell..... I found KOBA!.
I spoke with him and at first he thought I was there to interrogate him and then for some reason that I was there to rescue him. He told me that he has a plan and that he wanted me to get word out that he was being held and tortured. Alternatively he thought I could submit a petition to the King as he had been held for years. He stated that he was arrested years ago on charges of treason and inciting rebellion and admits he did and that it was for the people and was a revolution. The revolt failed and he was whisked away put him in the cell and he has been there ever since. In a cell next door is the fine horse Longfellow with an unkempt mane and looking the worse for wear, why he is here is a question I would like to know the answer to. Could it be that the real reason for the murder of Antony the Horse Trainer was simply to take possession of this fine and now neglected horse? Both cells are next to a larger room with some instruments of torture in it would appear that Koba might well be justified in his complaint of torture.
Further on I found Skaros Office, in the bookcases are several golden books all with Poe titles, on a desk I found Skaros schedule and it says that from now until Feb 1st he will be working at a secret location but on that day at 8pm he will be in the Meeting Hall, who he might be meeting would be interesting to know but we do now know where and when he will be on that day. The other golden books teleport you to various locations around the Kingdom such as the Office of the Governor of Moonglow demonstrating how Skaros was able to move around unseen so successfully.
These findings conclude what I discovered following the trail from the Customs office so I decided to investigate the destination in Trinsic - on arrival there I could find nothing in the bookcases and so I spoke to Rince the Encyclopedist. Once again he said Skaros was here just a few days ago and was seeking information on a BLOCKING spell which is apparently a way of stopping magical travel, it would seem he found the spell he needed and left towards the Paladins Library, probably to make use of the golden book there to travel onwards.
So in conclusion Skaros has carried out both 'to do' items and has use of a 'blocking' spell. We have established that he was responsible for the disappearance and imprisonment of Koba and we have knowledge of where he will be on the 1st Feb and also the time. I trust His Majesty will find this information useful.

The Secret Headquarters.

Koba and Longfellow both captives.
