My current skill set includes lumber jacking. However, I am not a bowyer or carpenter. The purpose being for resource selling rather than as a self-supplier for said professions. The problem being that I do not have the necessary carpentry to make boards out of rarer woods. I am not in a fight and only seek leather from the ones I engage. I would like opinions on this matter. Would another skill be better in place of lumber jacking? Would logs be ok to offer for sale?

current skills: Arms lore. Smithing. Lumber jacking. Magery. Mining. Tailoring. Tinkering.

get a soulstone and add carpentry or drop lumberjacking and add alchemy. You will probably make more with pots than logs.

Aye, best solution would be to get a couple of soulstones so that you can switch between mining and lumberjacking.

Aye. Soulstones are your friend.

You don't want to be carrying logs, they are very heavy. You are better off using soulstones to add carp. However, they will sell just fine because the carpenters will be able to use them.

You may also find that you'll want to add fletching later on.

Get some soulstones.

Legacy tokens... i see... ack.

Although... Im a bit hesitant in that Im not necessarily looking to be an everyman.
Would it benefit myself AND siege to get some?

You will need a Minimum of 2 Soulstones to swap skills back and forth, an empty one to store a skill on(example-lumberjacking), and a Full one to pull your other skill off of(example-Mining).
Once youve pulled a skill off a soulstone, you have to wait 24 Hours exactly to use the stone again.

Haulin logs is highly annoying due to their weight as *log* I have the dilemma in reverse on Chesapeake. I have the old school lumberjacker from when lumberjacking was a warrior skill. I still try to use HER to get me wood cuz my carpenters there NO lumberjacking. The only gm lumberjacker gm carp I have together on one chr. is HERE. Mighty convenient to cut the logs to boards so one can haul more.

And if you opt to do alchemy...you will then have to BUY kegs or...have a carpenter with tinker skills, to make ya kegs.

Do not hang up the arms lore you would need that for anything you make smith or tailor etc. if ya want the better %%%%%%%%%%%%% ya have to have the arms lore gm'd etc.

I have been utter ANTI soul stones and anti soul stone fragments, to me they make SIEGE be same as any other shard where even with the one chr. per acct. rule ..with enough stones and frags every one anyone can be *EVERYTHING* hense negating our need for others. BUT I too have had no choice in the end, when we HAD to have arms lore Castor gave me a soul stone fragment, I had to shelve something else to get that arms lore...so I stoned mining since the BRE were slaughtering me anyway. . to gm arms lore so my 120 tailoring finally made something worth a flip.

So you gonna be in same dilemmas..here or anywhere..too many crafting skills require multiple crafts to make diddly..ya can not make a bed as a carpenter without tailoring, you can not make a forge as a carp if ya have not smithing *save for elfy forge*, ya can not make even the large SE lanterns without carptink and kegs too carp tink skills etc. etc.

ya can be a gm lumberjacker even from back in the day..but if you would find 200 frost wood on a tree by miracle...you could end up bogged down unable to move or have to haul a packy ..on ye old school warrior bleh...or make your carp be lumberjacker etc.

sooo you gonna have to be stuck soulstoning it or fragments..or ya just find it all a pain in the butt just trying to meld ya crafting skills or resource gathering chr. or combo..ya be stuck with stones and fragments or hassles ! either or !

LOGS can go on commodity deeds and sale, wool sells cloth sells, ingots sell, craftables sell, alchemy sells, if one restocks it all sells.

I have had lots of vendors in 3 busy Siege vendor homes simultaneously, from bombs to apples to potions to leather armor to tools and engraving and more..all my vendors are removed on Siege I don't play here that much any more, not much going on for my chrs. here any more, but I know it all sells and once ya work out your own logistics it will all sale here for YOU too. So hang in there !

Oh also it helps to think in separated yet like minded issues when ya workin crafter...keep ya heavy metals all together active same times ..mining tinkering smithing *all metal users*..........carp lumberjacking bowcrafter...all *wood users*...tailoring *hide cloth user* ...make tools for ye skills on the tinkering for everything stock up on ye tools, stone what ya not using more like in groups..if ya stone ya mining ya deplete ya ore to ya smith tinker etc...but ya have to sort of rotate alternate to DO too, if ya want to try to do more of them.

If ya opt for alchemy then keep those *related ones grouped* alchemy, scribe, chef...which enables you to make the potions cook up the enchanted apples and make scrolls res 8th circle spell books ie *cerebral* crafts lol mage reg related which also includes magic foods..chefing too.

*I had slapped all those latter ones alchem chef fisher scribe meditation mage dude all on one chr. ...since I had other accts.

So think in ye groupings and resources related skills and you will do fine.

Not completely true Mir...Its nice to have the kegs, but since pots stack, you can just sell stacks instead of the kegs...A bit annoying, but saves you from having carp.

Yeh true I nearly forgot about that.

I sold potions stacked by the bottles, and they sold quite well. Some do prefer the kegs full though store em up in their homes by the kegs like DP especially, but aye with the stacking nowadays one does not have to make or buy kegs if they don't want to..nor need to...especially if they get the bottles at low faction town pricings.

Silly me is hoping people realize that Siege Perilous is thee shard for a superior game in many ways. Im hoping people realize that games that may or may not have "craft" in the title, although "pretty", are nothing more than a silly linear 1 player "RPG" with chat. Ug! UG! UG! and well... maybe people on other shards will tire of basically playing the same game that may or may not have "craft" in the title. CURSE YOU TRAMMLE! CURSE YOU OSI/EA FOR CATERING TO AN IDIOT FILLED MARKET PLACE! UG!!! That was not necessary, I apologize. Im more apt to get another account. While more expensive, to me it seems more in the spirit of Siege. Until more crafters come along that is. Then I go RED MWUAHAHAHA! *ehem* i kid.

I prefer kegs because sometimes there are problems with potions stacking. I also stack the kegs in my house and set most of them to friends so others can use them in a pinch. Seems easier that way.

You would be surprised at the fun a red crafter can have with GM alchemy, an ecru ring, and a few explosion pots.

I've never used one...but does those salvage bags do anything for logs?

Rofl. That's true. Nothing quite as fun as killing the afk macroers in heartwood or luna bank when they think they are safe!
