Sims, cities and the move

I have three sims. One in AV, one in BF and one in Test/EA Land. When the cities merge, will I have three sims in EA Land? I realize that EA Land is the merging of all the cities... so is it sort of like a sub-division of cities but all on the same new and improved city/world map that allows me access to all my sims at the pick a city screen much like it does now?

I should add that that two of my sims have the same name in two different cities. Will this make a difference?

Thanks!

Not sure about the first part, but when the sims get to the same place, the oldest one will keep the name & the other will have number tacked onto the end of it.

To the best of my understanding....

When EALand Opens I will be given a slot to create a sim there.

EAGracie is born

When cities are merged:
FF Gracie is the oldest and will merge and retain her name.
DG Gracie wil become Gracie010101222
MF Gracie will become Gracie010101333
EA Gracie will be come Gracie010101444
(numbers are randomly added to name. The oldest sim will retain the name)

If I only had 2 sims to merge.....

FF Gracie
DG Gracie
EA Gracie
EA Gracie (allows for second sim to be created in EALand.)

When Betaville is merged:
BV Nito family 1
BV Nito Family 2
BV Nito Family 3
BV Nito Family 4

When all is said and done, I will have 8 sims in EALand.

TC3 Gracie is on a separate server and is not considered part of EALand
TC3 Alt Sim
TC3 Alt Sim
TC3 Alt Sim
TC3 Alt Sim
TC3 Alt Sim

I will have 6 sims in TC3.

I will have access to a total of 14 sims to play. Considering I have spent the previous 5 years playing only 1 sim in 1 city, this whole new world is quite a challenge. It is a little more fun playing with the 6 sims I currently have in TC3 because my friends are always in the same city with me. Keeping up with my friends and their 6 sims is more challenging. Half the time I can't remember who I am let alone who they are.

I tried that out with the TC/TC3 merge.

I tried 2 different scenarios....

First scenario I had my oldest sim in TC and the younger in TC3.

Second scenario was my oldest with the name was in TC3 and my youngest in TC.

In both cases, the youngest got the #'s and the oldest kept the name in tack. I had a couple that I specifically changed their names 'pre-merge' to see if they would go back to the old name and their names were ok also.

Not sure if I understood the last part Dutch. When you did a name change pre-merge did the sim merge with the new name you gave them or revert back to their original creation name?

Yes, I wanted to see if they reverted back to their old name.

Previously when moving sims from city to city, sometimes names would go back to their original name so I wanted to see if the merge would do that. They kept their most recent name and did not go back to their old names.

Thanks for all the replies. Since I don't want numbers at the end of my sims name I will have to get inventive to prevent it!!

Thanks again!!
