Wow, things have changed or am I losing my mind?
There are only 8 chairs,9 tables,13 decor, 9 entertainment, nothing in pets,
2 appliances,no skill/job objects,10 lights, and 12 under misc. Where did everything go? There isn't much of anything left to buy unless you go to a store lot; is it suppose to be like this? I cant even buy my pet a pet food dish anymore....thank goodness I have one already. I thought we were to be able to buy things that were under a $100 dollars but it seems even some of those are gone too.

Yes,...the catalogue will disappear and only be available to store owners.

Is there going to be a list of products (with pictures) and suggested retail prices posted somewhere? One of the nice things about the catalog was being able to browse at home, then go to a store and say "I would like 6 Parisienne chairs, please." It's not going to be cost-effective for store owners to buy one of EVERYTHING to display.

Im sorry,...but I had not seen any posts referrencing that. Its a good idea and question for the DEVs. I don't visit TC3, but many of them are on these boards and may have an answer.

I wouldnt mind if the whole catalog disappeared right now. LoL I used to hate the idea of only buying things at stores, but I have adapted pretty well over there, and I love it!

Well, I for one will say I don't like it. I cant even buy a tip jar. I understand change, and that its needed, but come on.

I'd say it's "ridiculous", but that seems so inadequate.

We'll have to come up with a new word.

Stores could also use bigger lots and capacity limits greatly increased in order to display all these items let alone stock enough for the discount. Where's a Walmart when ya need one?

Oh yea, bigger lots & higher object limit should definitely be consiered for at least the stores.

I totally agree. How about one of these?
Ridiculous: beyond all reason, obscene, outrageous, preposterous, shocking, unconscionable, unreasonable

Stop by Gracie's Garage Sale anytime I'm open. I'll be happy to sell anyone a tip jar. Just uploaded custom content catalogs at store for you to browse while you shop

I guess when CC is in full swing maybe you could come up with the Home Shopping Network.
I always thought stores should be the only catagory to have access to ALL items (excluding food, alcohol, tobacco). So I guess I'm all for this change. Now if lot size and property limits could be increased for stores we would be all set.

What an awesome idea!! If stores had larger capacities, they could actually display more stuff.

Here here! I agree with KIR. If the catalogue is deleted, then the object limit for stores should increase - good idea!

I might stop by for a tip jar!

I just dont see why I should have to, and I am fearful of the stores having a monopoly on everything that is needed. No insult intended to any store owner.

TTL...

I think it would be neat to have the registers bring up what is available in the catalog so you can place an order of things you would like to purchase and have the store owners/roomies get it for you. Just a thought to put the registers to good use!?!?

It has been mentioned before here and at the pub to make the catalog available for shoppers view. Hope MOMI is listening!!

But that means some store owners/roomies couldn't be afk 20+ hours a day(ballparking homi's, I know I may be off by an hour or two
)....I do not think the monopolizers will not like that idea

Until we fully understand how the new auctions and catalog systems of stores will work it is hard to tell what we will need. From the hints that have been dropped the last few months I have a feeling all stores will not have access to all items available at all times. While I know people would like to complain about how hard it will be to shop, I have a feeling it is going to become alot harder to run a shop as well.

For now, I'm doing what I can to adapt and adjust to changes as they come. Uploading CC shopping guides that show pictures of objects that I can sell is my cure for this week.

I have no clue what I will have to do to run a store by this time next year.

Auction? Please tell me this is an optional thing... I would hate to have to wait for an auction to get something I need instead of just going to the mall and buying it off the floor.

*TTL*

Right now TC3 is packed with people. But, what happens if and when the population drops, like it has in other cities throughout the history of this game? in the past, it was not unusual for me to log in and find no stores open in some of the cities where I lived. Or, the store that was open only sold high end items, or pets, etc. The only remedy will be for me to open my own store. I dunno...time will tell if my distaste for the catalog loss is worth being upset over.

I suppose the EA Land will have the majority of players so not finding a store open would be unlikely, unless one plays at odd hours...

What's going to suck is when someone ask for something, then decides they don't want it, then the store owner is stuck with it and out the money until they can sell it.

Also, there's the problem of people not knowing the name of the item they want. If they say, "I want the blue chair", and there are several blue chairs...well, that could be tedious.

Then, what about pets. What if someone wants a specific pet? Store owners can no longer set out several pets and then sell them back.

_Just Thoughts.

I have always made all my residences as stores so that I wouldn't have to pay someone else's prices. It also made it very convenient for me if I wanted to refurnish. So the fact that catalogues are only available to stores isn't an issue of concern for me, although I understand and sympathize at the frustration others may be having with the issue.

Not only did this make building and furnishing easier, since it wasn't a store for public use, I had all the benfits of having a store, without the headaches of hosting one.

And I think because of the planned limited access to catalogues,....alot more stores are going to be seen, compared to any other category of residence, for the same reason as I have for owning mine.

I believe you are correct. I, too, plan to keep a store, for private use, at least at first. In all my years of playing I never really frequented stores, except for clothing, which I bought maybe a half dozen times. I am not much on shopping, and want instant gratification when I do. :/ Of course, it didn't help that in recent times stores were open but all signs of life in hiding 24/7. I thought it felt creepy, like I was trespassing in a store after closing. And, frankly, if the people who ran the store couldn't be bothered playing, then I didn't want to be bothered buying there...

Time will tell if the percentage of store properties goes up. I predict "private use" money lots will increase, also.

I agree. I too, plan on keeping a store lot just for personal use myself, I do not like having to depend on finding someone actually at their keyboard to special order something I want. The only time I use stores is when first furnishing a new house to get the more pricey items or shopping for clothes. I prefer to buy the little things from home, since our inventory is so limited it makes shopping a pain in the butt. I also like to be able to see in the catalog, how can we tell if something new is added if we can't take a look? I know I've looked for something new every update, maybe some week I'll be surprised.

I believe finding open stores in EAL will be a thing of the past. They told us we would be able to buy game items without even having to log into the game. I imagine it will be similar to There, meaning stores can sell items 24/7 without having to keep a house open in game. We were even told by a dev to leave our stores open afk, which further leads me to believe that's the direction they're heading.

What they need to do is put a catalog list in buy mode. This way we could browse the catalog at the store or at home to decide what we want. New players won't have a clue what is available and will only see what stores stock.
