There is truth to that theory also, once some one has their character or characters accomplished, or *done* the idea to up whatever skills all over again...again anywhere else is not something some folks are fond of. Whenever anyone anywhere accomplishes the tasks or goals they strived to achieve wherever, sorta like pixel dogs jumpin thru hoops of training, to *become* they do not want to do it all, all over again...anywhere else.
It becomes for many, a been there done it, not doing it all over again mode.
That is probably why, Siege Perilous, regardless of it's unique differences SHOULD be on the shards list for all to see from the get go. The factor that the dev. team always leaves Siege off the list like it does not even exit at all, so *youngs* new UO customers, never get to see Siege, on the entire shards list, does nothing to help Siege, one iota.
Why they can not SHOW Siege on the shards list, from the get go, with some puny *disclaimer* like Siege is a unique all felucca ruleset, or something is beyond comprehension, most of the time. I DO fathom protecting 'new' customers from felucca but in reality, be it on reg. shards or Siege, IF a new customer wishes to TRY felucca ruleset ANYWHERE I say let em, least let em KNOW it is all there TOO as part of the UO world, from the get go !
There be some that may be actually interested to DO so and don't need to be totally prevented from it like some nanny state EA UO with...having to ask a zillion times [how do we renounce our young status] etc. or discovering that Siege DOES exist after they are barely old enough to no longer be *young* and find a surprise on the shards listings.. [oh look I am seeing another shard on the shards list], heck by then they already got or worked up some skills, however puny those may be !

For a longer UO customer like myself, I was playin UO before even Siege Perilous existed. I did come over here back in 99 to try Siege but they *wiped* it and I was like oh I am not starting all over here again again...got DONE warriors on Chesapeake with homes and stuff, so I went back to where I began.
Then trammel came tearing the huge guild I was part of in half, half stayed in *felucca* half fled to *trammel*, destroying, our guild, player run towns were literally, torn in two, makin a mess as if destroying the world/populations of UO on every older shard, entirely, never to be whole or ONE ever, again.
I have a player written book at my home on my porch on Chesapeake where 2 old fel tram moonstones are locked down over the book I wrote.
The book is simply entitled: Once upon time our world, was ONE !
It invites folks to TRY Siege.
I NEVER made crafter chrs. I hated the feeling of being *defenseless* till I came HERE.
There was something even WORSE feeling to me, about insurance, least to me, than even the advent of Trammel.
I had one chr. that actually began tailoring on Chesapeake, right before *insurance* and seen players *insure* my gm made thigh boots, insurance cost em more than having to buy them again from my vendor 100 gp vs. 600gp+ to insure something as silly as player made thigh boots ???
I CAME HERE 2004 & made crafters {only} ! lol I was feelin UO was becoming a coddly nanny state all wrapped up in some poofy protective shell of some suffocating UO existance pre trammel and post insurance. Im rl old rl old in UO and I don't need to be *coddled* in rl or games !! To me it was like, I was in some surreal newb sorta suffocating NANNY STATE, of UO.
Thus I came here 2004.
Perhaps I had died so many times before trammel had even exsited, that dying in and of itself alone, via other players no longer matters to me..
and I killed some back myself back in the day.
After AOS I wanted nothing whatsoever to DO with pvp age of stuff and item$ and math.
Figured if I AM makin some newbie all crafter chrs. [skills I never really bothered with before] as a UO customer, and as a 'retired warrior', DO IT HERE. And even here by 2004 I was an *old* UO customer so I even resisited joining NEW guild cuz I was OLD to UO just new here..but I did join NEW guild in the end, cuz I was outta tinker tools and gp, ready to hang it up here again, makin/foolin around with all newb chrs. but I ran into the GM of NEW, she got me a new set of tinker tools [so I 'could' CONTINUE here !]
I do have 2 GM carpenters now, one here, one on Chesapeake too, and it was MIND NUMBING to do even that skill to GM 2x on 2 shards.
I do fathom, once folks up them skills, ANY skills, they may not ever wish to do any skills, like a newb chr anywhere else, all over again again !
IF they could only SEE Siege Perilous on the shard list; from the get go,
it may render Siege a few UO customers that might actually prefer or be interested too, to *start* here, FIRST !
Once someone becomes an established chr. *anywhere* or characters, they would need some real motivation, to start all over again again ..anywhere.
For myself *insurance* soooo ticked me off even more than creating Trammel had destroying my guild and player town in half, back then, insurance then became my primo motivational reason to try SIEGE..."again" so like some old school [UO rebel], that no longer pvps at all even, I came HERE *again*, simply cuz there was (and I knew) there NO insurance, here !
I WAS TICKED OFF, MOTIVATED ye could say, at what UO was becoming, enough so I said..give Siege one more try and let's hope they don't wipe the shard like they did when I first came over to try Siege way back in 99.
Cuz yeh makin ye chr. all over again, again is a pain !
