I want a tread here so we could communicate with and about the newcomers, be they transfering from prodo, returning to UO or completely new to UO.

There has been a little influx; personally, I've seen B E A S T, transferer, Misanthrope, returning, Yourself and Skunk Beard, transferers.

OK, those of you who will help every newcomer coming in please list yourself, your abilities and means of contact (ICQ, Skype, ingame char name etc.).

Guildmasters or their representatives are also asked to list their guilds here, with the note of guild primary and secondary occupations, the requirements to join (will you take everyone who just wishes to join or they have to have/do something, are there special rules within your guild) and whom and how should a newcomer contact to enlist himself (ICQ, Skype, Stratics account, ingame char names).

Moonglow Outfitters is located one screen north of the Moonglow portal. My neighbor has a nice shop right next door also. I don't use ICQ and can be contacted by PM or in chat. The chars I roll with are Peter Gabriel, Moody Bleau, and Jack Nickelson.

I'm goona bust out some x leather gear this afternoon and throw them on my vendor at some stupid price for new folks so they can at least kill skeletons and zombies. There are so many mongbats in this area that anybody new could afford anything at my shop after about 30 minutes.

I did throw some decent gear for new folks on Siege. TBH. this post is more of an attempt of tryning to undeerstand why I get the screwy log in/log out problems on stratics. Post via Dell/Microsoft/Firefox instead of my little iPad. See if it works...if ya been here for awhile please don't buy my leather gear. Thanks.

Here is a little help to new Siege players.
The Dark Outlaws is living in Safe Haven, see link in my signature. The Dark Outlaws do take in new very young menbers, if they can accept our rules and we like them.

But even without a guild, New Magincia is a good place to start. There are at least 2 HUBs with teles, Crystal portals, good shops and the Community vendors will buy stuff you can gathering.
The teles will bring you to other places, Safe Haven, Umbra, Abyss, GIL town and I think alot more Places.

Many likely gave up on GC on prodo shards and just assume Siege's GC is the same. Make it clear in posts concerning Siege GC that it is not like prodo GC. Might really surprise some people.

Many likely gave up on GC on prodo shards and just assume Siege's GC is the same. Make it clear in posts concerning Siege GC that it is not like prodo GC. Might really surprise some people.

Correction: it wasn't like prodo shards until recently. At least for of the past five nights I've been on Siege, the GC had dramatically changed for the worse. At this rate I fully expect "hawt teen gurl" and the ilk to completely take over. It's the firsttime I've considered the possibility of actually hiding users from chat (is that even possible in classic client?)

Loria, Kingdom of Light [Lore]​

The Kingdom of Loria is a small independent Kingdom made up of several towns located on the Origin Shard and the Colony of Sanctym Ex on the dark world (Siege Perilous). The Kingdom was founded by the Seer Hawkwind to fulfill the Timelord's Quest of Unity by merging the Shardal Worlds of the Multiverse with the True Universe. The Kingdom existed in secret for many years [on Origin], awaiting the arrival of its King which prophecy foretold "Will come from across the stars bearing the name "In Lor Des Sanct". This King will be the one to end the Gem of Immortality's curse and re-unite the worlds of the Multiverse with the True Universe. The Kingdom is a Monarch Republic led by a King and the Royal Council.

The style of RP includes politics, PvP (RP themed VvV and RP guild war), PvM (spawns and hunts), Mercantile (crafting and trading) with an overall theme of fulfilling the Timelords's Quest of Uniting the Worlds of the Multiverse (Shards) with True Sosaria.

Out of Character goals will be to create a fun and immersive RP environment for Origin/Siege players, test and give feedback on Vice vs Virtue. Strictly Adhere to the UO Terms of Service and forbid the use of any illegal 3rd party programs.

Current RP: The Kingdom of Lore has recently started the Colony of Sanctym Ex in the Perilous world, "where the final battle between Vice and Virtue will take place and the fate of all Worlds resides".

The Spymaster heads the Order of Infiltration and Investigation and is charged with gathering intelligence and conducting counter espionage operations.

Court Mage - (OPEN)
Advises the King and the citizens on all matters magical. The Court Mage is responsible for the magical safety of the Kingdom and unraveling the magical secrets if the multiverse. [Many of the Kingdom’s role-play Quests and events will stem from this position]

Admiral of the Lorian Armada - (OPEN)
Serves under the Lord of the Realm as the head of the Lorian Navy, the admiral commands the Kingdom Armada on the High Seas and is responsible for the planning sea related events such as message in a bottle, and hunting down Pirates.

The Ambassador is in charge of establishing diplomatic relationships with guilds and foreign lands and is responsible for the gathering intelligence, and conducting anti-espionage operations.

Royal Decorators: (OPEN) In charge of the castle decor as well as decorating for special occasions and Kingdom events.

Royal Chef: (OPEN) Responsible for cooking for parties and grand banquets hosted by the Kingdom.

The Princess De'Lora invites four ladies in waiting from the kingdom to attend court and be her confidants in keeping with the old traditions.

Kingdom Organizations:

The Virtue Knights of the Lorian Order: Based on the old Order Guard created by Lord British, The Lorian Order comprises the Kingdom’s Military and includes Men and Women of all professions who have sworn to protect the Virtues, the Kingdom and the innocent from evil and oppression. Members of the military enforce the law within the Kingdom and fight the wars against enemies of Virtue outside the Kingdom’s borders [Strong PvP focus].

The Military is organized into Eight Knightly Orders one for each of the Virtues (Compassion, Honor, Sacrifice, Justice, Honesty, Valor, Humility and Spirituality). Knights are assigned to an Knightly Order after meeting with the Seer and taking the Test of Virtue. Knights may petition to join another Order if they feel the Virtue assigned does not accurately reflect their goals or personality.

Order of Infiltration and Investigation: The Lorian Spy Corp serves under the direction of the Spymaster gathering intelligence for the Kingdom. Professions range from master rogues to cooks in foreign kitchens with innocent faces and sharp eyes and ears.

The Merchants Guild: Headed by the Royal Treasurer, Merchants guild looks out for the Kingdom’s crafts people and merchants. The merchant’s guild hosts auctions, advises citizens on pricing and provides places where citizens can sell wares.

Code of Conduct for Virtue Knights of the Lorian Order

-Lead a virtuous life by following the Eight Virtues of the land: Valor, Sacrifice, Honor, Honesty, Compassion, Justice, Spirituality and Humility

-Welcome and befriend all men and women of good heart that cross thy path.

-Uphold the laws of the land

-Protect all good citizens to the best of thine ability

-Carry thyself with dignity worthy of a Keeper of Virtue at all times, never to mock or belittle others, even those who are of the most evil sort. To refrain from cursing; never using crude or vulgar language.

-To meditate at the Shrines of Virtue and reflect upon thy actions if ever thine reputation becomes one of disrepute.

-Never raise thy weapon or magic against citizen of the land without just cause

-Offer peace first, to all Vice agents and enemies of the kingdom not on the aggressors list. Ask that they depart the Besieged cities of Virtue of their own free will and in peace or else be escorted out.

-Report the name of all Vice warriors, refusing peace and bent on murder and chaos, that they may be added to the list of Aggressive Vice Agents, and repeat offenders will be added to the aggressive agents list and therefore attacked on sight by the Knights of the Virtue

-Come to the aid of thy fellow knights immediately if thou hears word of trouble

-Never strike a defeated foe upon his return to life. Inform him he has nothing to fear, they may gather their things and leave in peace.

-Never to interfere with an honorable duel, even if that means watching thy friend perish. If any conditions of the duel are broken the Knight has the obligation to intervene on the side of the innocent party(i.e. you might have to join a Vice warrior against a dishonorable Virtue Knight who is cheating and thus hiding under the banner of Virtue while committing heinous acts).

-To gentle ask all Knights of Virtue to desist if observed using cruel and mocking language, committing a crime or engaging in needless murder of those already fallen in battle. Remind them that they represent all that is good in the land, whilst they fight under the banner of Virtue.

-To only raise arms against a fellow Virtue Knight in the service of the kingdom in defense of self or in defense of an innocent life; never for insults or pettiness. Any Virtue Knights committing evil acts will be added to the Aggressive Agents list as a Rogue Knight hiding behind the veil of virtue to commit acts of Vice.

-To enforce the laws of the land; to arrest and capture those who are guilty of murder and declared enemies of the kingdom.

Take it with a grain of salt, IanJames rarely plays on Siege anyway. And no Gil doesn't recruit, but you'll see more than a few new players log in and ask specifically for a Gil emmy.

I wasn't trying to be insulting, that's just the truth. We made a decision to stop actively recruiting several years ago in order to help steer people towards the other smaller guilds that people didn't see as often. More guilds on the shard is healthier. I didn't want you to think we were ignoring your thread. I'm sorry you're offended.

And yes, I haven't played in a long time as I've been off working on a degree, which is now done, so now I'm back.
