<font color="purple"><center>Siege In game Auction FAQ</center></font>
I have put together this FAQ to answer some of the many questions that have been raised since this idea was sparked and work began on conducting an auction. Please reply any other questions you may have and i will add the answers to this FAQ.
<font color="maroon">Q. When is the Auction? </font>
A. The auction will occur at 2 PM central US time on Sunday July 9th.
<font color="maroon">Q. Where is the Auction? </font>
A. The auction house location will NOT be announced prior to the day of the auction. There will be the entry points for the auction site at different banks with-in the land. Transportation personnel will gate you to the auction site from the bank you choose to leave from.
<font color="maroon">Q. How do I submit Items?</font>
A. You may submit items by contacting me VIA PM or ICQ #16757967. We will meet in game at a quiet bank and I will collect the items personally and secure them in the auction house. Please collect items you wish to be sold at auction into a backpack with a book in the bag listing the items you have for sale and the minimum bid you are willing to accept for each item.
<font color="maroon">Q. How will I know my items are safe?</font>
A. Your items will go straight into the auction house vault and remain there until auction time. The auction house is being designed to eliminate any possibility of theft of the auctions items during the auction process. It will be tested thoroughly for flaws prior to the auction by Kelmo and company. The Auction will not proceed until the house gets his stamp of approval security-wise.
<font color="maroon">Q. What items can be sold?</font>
A. You may submit any item for the auction that can be physically taken to the auction house AND sold on a vendor. This can be rares, weapons, armor, single items, items sets, etc etc. One never knows what will sell and won't sell at an auction.
<font color="maroon">Q. When is the deadline to submit items?</font>
A. You may submit items no later than 4 hours prior to the start of the auction. That is 10 AM central US time. Any item not physically at the auction house by the deadline will be removed from the list and will not be sold.
<font color="maroon">Q. Once I buy an item how do I pay for it safely?</font>
A. Once you are done bidding on all items you desire and are ready to leave you will join our vendor personnel and be transported to an unknown secure location where you will find the items you have won safely placed on a vendor for you to purchase at your winning bid. The vendor location will be in a secure room inside a house that requires friend access to enter. You will be friended to enter the transaction room and once you have your items in your possession. you will be gated to a destination of your choice from with-in the room if you can not travel on your own. once you have left the building you will be un-friended. And the next buyer will be brought in. There will be only one buyer at a time transported to the vendor house.
<font color="maroon">Q. Will I be safe at the auction?</font>
A. The auction house will be a private residence and you will have to be accessed to enter. Once inside you will be safe. Getting there safely could be more perilous so please dress lightly as transportation will be provided. That being said, this is Siege and safety is relative. If a raid does occur and you are killed outside we will get you accessed and rez you once inside. AGAIN, dress lightly just in case.
<font color="maroon">Q. How will you keep all the auction items organized?</font>
A. Each person who submits items will get a lot number. The items in each lot will be sold in succession. Once purchased the items will be taken to the vault and placed into a bag engraved with the correct bidder number. The purchase amount will be listed by bidder number as each item closes in the Lot book the item was part of.
<font color="maroon">Q. How will the security be handled?</font>
A. The logistics are being ironed out concerning security outside the house.
Regarding inside security, there will be no warnings issued and the following policies will be in effect. There will be "bouncers" among the crowd who have access menus poised on the revoke access screen. The following will cause you to be removed from the auction and you will not be allowed to re-enter.
Anyone who is seen "attacking" another.
Anyone who is seen snooping or stealing from another player.
Anyone who does things to distract or disrupt the auction.
<font color="maroon">Q. How and when will sellers get paid for the items that are sold?</font>
A. I will do my best to get all items returned that did not sell and all moneys paid to sellers with in 72 hours of the auction's end. This transaction will occur at any quiet bank in the same fashion as item submission.
<font color="maroon">Q. How will bids be taken during the auction?</font>
A. Ideally, each person who registers as a bidder will be given access to an auto map server to log into. bids will be typed into the map chat so everyone can see the list in the corner of the screen. the only barrier to this system will be the connection ability of people to auto map. An alternative bidding system may take place which will utilize "spotters" who are connected to teamspeak with the auctioneer to inform of spotted bids.
<font color="maroon">Q. What is a "proxy" bid?</font>
A. Proxy bids are bids placed in advance of the auction by people who will be unable to attend. A person who wants to bid on an item in advance may do so by placing their Maximum bid with me prior to the auction. The mediator will simply bid while an item is displayed until the proxy "runs out of money". A proxy bid will start at the min bid of an item and continue until they are high bidder or the max has been reached.
<font color="maroon">Q. Can i help with the auction?</font>
A. This auction is going to be quite an undertaking and I can use all the quality help I can get to make things run smoothly. I have need for the following positions to assist with the auction. if you see one you might enjoy doing please contact me.
1. Auctioneer - <font color="blue">Athena</font> {me}
