Should peerless and other drops be increased on SP?

Should replica/artifact/peerless drops be increased on Siege Perilous?

New items have been introduced that could quell many of the problems with faction arties, if both they and replica drops would be increased. For example:

Tangle : Half Apron: 10 Int 2 MR 5 DCI

Slither :Talisman: 10 HPI 2 HPR 10 DCI

Night Eyes: Glasses: 3FCR 10DCI 10/10/10/10/10 resists

Replica Items:

Captain John's Hat: http://www.uoguide.com/Captain_John's_Hat

Orc Chief Helm(30HPI and 30HCI versions): http://www.uoguide.com/Orc_Chieftain_Helm

Couple these with higher drops of totem of the void, fey leggings, HOTL, etc, and faction artifacts could see a bit less attention. With only one character slot and a somewhat low population champion spawns are dying to say the least. Maybe a handful done per day on this shard. Replica drops are simply too few and far between, as are the other drops. If we could get a guaranteed drop per champ spawn, and peerless, perhaps only the lower tier faction items would be used(RBC, Stoemgrip, etc, 5k cost ones).

To me, this eliminates a few problems:

1) AFK silver farming. Who wants to kill a naked naked, get a few thousand silver, and not even a real fight? Not me.

2) Those hunting peerless and doing champs often do so in large groups, or with loot a PK would actually want to have, creating larger scale fights and more competitive PvM spots.

Not all, no. These are also Ter Mur peerless, such as Navery Night eyes, etc. And the peerless in which you're locked in a room require you to be out of the room for a period of time in order to get the items needed to go into the room. Plus, when you jump out if someone knows you're there, you're kinda a sitting duck unless you are smart.

I rarely play siege, im too lazy to work magery through ROT, but i know the drops on Prodo are ridiculous.

We have the added bonus of being able to insure them, you guys dont and would constantly need to replace them...i say increase the drops.

Not a guaranteed drop though otherwise you kind of ruin some of the PK's fun, the PvMer can go in do one mod get the drop and leave. If you increase the drop rates they may still need to be there for a while giving more time for them to be found.

My reasoning for a drop every time is that some of the drops are pretty worthless. Such as a robe with 5 phys, HPI 3 etc. And even worse, items like djinni's ring and gauntlets of anger.

Speaking from experience, the drop rate is soo low that it might take the average player quite a long time to even get one drop. Increase the drop rate to a respectable ratio and everyone will be happy.

Well all Mel really drops is the crimson and totem of the void. So I can agree to that. Although I think they should just remove help stuck in dungeons.

I don't see it as a bandaid. I see it as more of a "separate but equal" kind of thing. For factioners putting themselves at risk of being attacked anywhere, going into statloss, and losing their items, they have artifacts made available to them. Other players can get items of the same intensity and power by doing champ spawns.

If this was to be implemented I wouldn't mind seeing silver farming fixed. IE: To get silver from a kill, a pet must have the "all kill" command used.

The game needs to shift towards players. Fix the mess factions is. Do this first before adding more to try and balance. *spits* I used to love factions.

I think for the faction items to be "fixed" a few things need to happen:

First - This, the increased drops.

Second: Upon death, faction arties turn into 1/2 their value of silver. IE Orny 12.5k silver, etc.

Third: Farming faction silver needs to be fixed, as stated above.

Fourth: A system implementing a constant spawn of cursed artifacts and tokuno artifacts needs to be implemented.


But you cannot just say "NO THIS WON'T FIX IT ALL!" UO has never worked like that. It takes many patches, and multiple months of sanding things down, refinishing them, and then having a product that is pristine.

I also believe if this was to be implemented faction dying of an item should cost silver. About 5k per dye. Either that, or the dye only lasts for a certain amount of time, or the dye can be removed using the same amount of silver, so that the silver non factioners get from killing faction players is put to use, and not just sold.

I voted No.

No need for an increased drop rate of replicas and marties. If you have some, use it. If you don´t, use something else.

And like someone mentioned the last time BR brought this up. Why should Siege get special treatment? If they changed the drop rate here then they must change it on prodo as well.

Why not just get rid of them instead of changing several other aspects of the game?

Yes, I can. Fix the broken system before spending on multiple band aids that only mask or attempt to hide the problem.
