Should Cal post screenshots of the new EC updates?

Cal said the new EC graphic updates are like if you had astigmatism and now its gone.

I know many players are looking forward to these updates. Should Cal post screenshots of the new EC graphic updates?

I'd like to see something. Cal said earlier this month we'd see the terrain upgrade in a publish this month or next month, so surely they've got some screenshots they can show us by now.

While previews would be nice, I'm ready to see them implemented (although, really, the terrain IMO is the LEAST in need of a revamp... it's the item artwork that needs the most drastic levels of improvement).

Back the day, we had 'In Concept' and 'In Development' on the main UO site.

It was nice to see what the team was at work on, even if it didn't always make it to the finished stage. At least you knew they were busy working on SOMETHING.

If the graphics are KR level I will gladly resub, I was actually enjoying the game when I tried the KR client, despite my feelings on the games direction since ren and aos.

When they canned the KR client I just shrugged and thought here we go again and pulled the plug on my subscription.

To show that EA does care for its players, to share with players progress, and out of goodwill to all its players, Cal should at least post a screenshot(s) since it only takes one minute to do. Or if he is busy he could task this to Kai.

I'm all for it but get ready for the Jurassics to come out and like broken records bash the new graphics and say how ****ty they look.

It's going to happen in droves anytime there is any attempt to improve the game. All this from people who don't even play the EC Client and have no intention of ever doing so.

I guarantee the 2d fanbois will chime in here and say how horrible it looks and how the 2d Looks better blah blah blah just like they did with UOKR.

KRs graphics were well done.

I thought it had some blending issues, especially with terrain (gave me a headache I couldn't even play), and a couple other things, but I never understood why they scrapped it completely basically and then gave something worse.

Probably not so much. The hate for KR from 2d players was because UO Devs said they were trying to eventually phase out 2d all together.

I voted no. The reason behind my vote is no matter how the graphics are there will still be players that have issues with it and be asking for changes/criticize it before its out.

Yeah, the CCers no longer have to worry about the CC being on a timer.

It would be really nice if Cal or one of the team would take a couple of minutes to post some screen shots of the new EC updates, especially since an overwhelming majority would like to see them. Releasing screenshots are a standard marketing practice. This would definitely generate interest on Stratics and many other mmo forums.

Seeing how the Devs' announcements on Cheating and Art are always exaggerated(And with them, the reactions of those who read them) I wouldn't be expecting much.. And even KR looked nice enough in Screenies(What other MMO doesn't?). But when played it was a mess visually.

Not that EC improved that by any impressive degree, either.. The only reasons to use EC and KR when it was available, were SPEED and UI.

So I think this will probably be sloppy and most likely rushed.. And it won't be soon(Only EA manages to magically combine the 2 last parts). But ANYthing they throw at us at this point in terms of Art/Graphics is an improvement so I won't complain more.

EDIT : Let's face it. The No-Dachi will still be "broken" half way down the blade, Sleeves and Arms will pop out above Shoulder Plates and Tunics.. Most SE weapons will barely show.. Scaling will always be iffy here and there.. Females' a@@@s will show through any clothing when riding.. Half the Hair Styles will look like #$%^.. Ahhh really I don't want to jinx this..

I voted no ... simply because as soon as he does/did there would be all sorts of
1. "when the @#$#@ is going to be done?"
2. "I don't wont it that way ... it looks <insert negativity here>"
3. "why can't things get done faster and we have to wait?" - corollary to #1.
