I have a straightforward warrior. Anatomy,Tactics, Weapon skill, Parry, Magic Resist, Bushido,Healing. I find shields way too cumbersome when I need to be drinking potions at the rate I do. I guess I just suck at pvm.

/this. When you made a toon (10 yrs ago), you could select 'warrior' - that's pretty much what I play, a basic 'off the shelf' toon. maybe it's time to change that for beginning players?

but I use a shield, old skool w/ HCI, currently using a shame found replacement till it goes poof (brittle). I like shields, adds a bit of rp to the game - and the guys in the movies use one w/ an axe.

I have seen some nice ones with mr 4 not cursed plus di 30%.
For gargoyles...handy for a trower...

It be nice if someone or a DEV could come out and say what template or skill a sheild is good for, or bad..

I myself love sheilds but at the moment i have no clue if its doing more damge to my char or not, samp or pure warrior, even caster mage/mystic..

My tamer would use one now for the extra mana regen..
Also why is it you can have a spell book in one hand and a sheild, yet not a book and 1 handed weap?...what if hes left handed...

I have 2 sampires and 1 melee paladin type character without Bushido.

Just because you play a sampire doesn't mean you can't/don't play a more traditional warrior type.

Also remember you can enhance this with shadow or valorite to up it's durability.

I haven't found much worth keeping except for to use for training purposes.
