There used to be a program way back in the day that would monitor servers up and down status so you didnt have to log in and out to see if your server was up. Does this still exist?

I don't know about a program, there used to be a website. To the best of my knowledge and recollection something changed in the way we connected to the servers which caused the site to no longer function.

Yep that was it. Boy I sure wish there was an updated program like that. Gotta keep loggin in and out to see if servers up.

If you stay at server select, will your sever pop up on the screen when it come back up after maintainance? Or do you have to log out then back in?

Never noticed that to happen, The client times you out rather quickly if you stay at the server selection screen.

It doesn't update. You have to backout to the login screen and login again to see if your server has come up. I do alot of server up semi rares.



Tip: To speed up your login, create a macro to do "paste" in UO. Copy that macro.txt file from "c:\documents and settings\...\x" to your "c:\program files\UO" folder.

Now type in your password in notepad and copy it. Toggle to UO and just hit your UO "paste" macro at UO's login screen. Saves you a fair bit of typing if you need to login fast.

Note, once server is up, wait about 5 secs before logging on. Otherwise the client sometimes hang at entering britannia. Probably coz the server isn't ready yet to reply with certain data packets that the client requires.

Edit: Be extra careful about accidentally pasting your password and then hitting the "enter" key in public though...I am not responsible for any such accidents

I wish we still had the option to sav our passwords, for smart people like me who dont go getting their computer infected or give their passwords away.

I miss that from back in the day, double click uo, hit enter, enter, enter Im in game...

I wish we atealst could log out from game and get back to character choise . Insted of having to retype password every time we change characters .
