Personally, only ever seen a black (cast iron) pot once in my life, at my Grandparents house.

I am sure if you went to Greenfield Village in Dearborn, Mi. you may see a cast iron kettle. They still make the pans, you do have to season them and they are great for using on the grill.

Many people still prefer cast iron. If it is properly seasoned it is way better than the flimsy teflon crap that replaced it. Also it can go from the stove to the grill to the oven to the fire pit. Try that with teflon and aluminum. I would rather use cast iron than anything else.
