I was only reasoning -with my thinking about how I envision PvP in UO-, why I am convinced that a steady drop rate for the Scrolls of Valiant Commendation and their cheap availability to all players, is a good thing for PvP in UO which is the topic of this thread. This, because some posters were instead lamenting them to be too much available and too cheap for selling (I do not see a price tag as 7 or 8 millions as "cheap", but that is another story....). My point is that items meant for PvP (or meant to make a difference in PvP), should be easily obtainable by any and all players in the game for the reasons I tried to explain.
That's it.
They have already added that capability to the game...just not to every shard.
Just go to TC, and use the proper "Get" commands...then you can have whatever you want. But that is NOT what makes UO great, IMHO, and it should NEVER be that way ("EVERYTHING Cheap and Available to Anyone" or whatever you are asking for) on any other shard but TC.
On the Prodo shards, and I have played this game since Beta...the "Fun" for some people (like me and a ton of other folks) is doing precisely what a poster in this thread stated: Farm & Sell Items in Demand for PvP Suits in Trammel. This is BIG business. I scrolled and outfitted 19 characters on three accounts in this fashion. I also purchased a Luna Vendor house over 5 years ago with gold I made from my vendors in the wild. I do not care for non-con PvP, so I don't do it. I farm places that don't allow it, and then sell items that are in demand for PvP to players willing to pay the price. I then use that gold to buy scrolls and/or equipment.
I know that you will come back with a big ole post utilizing many "IMHO"s and "That's the way I see it"...which is just fine, Popps.
But remember, many...in fact, I am betting...most... will never agree with you on this point. There are already games you can go play that only allow combat between similarly outfitted and skilled opponents...but UO is not one of those games. It is UO.
"Cheap" is relative, indeed. 8 Mill is a lot for a new player...but my guild had every member get Crimmys back in the day...in fact...some got lucky and got several Crimmys. But we did it as it was intended...we grouped up, cooperated, and were rewarded for our efforts.
I do not want these items to be readily available to every player without having to pay the proper price for them (and "Price" can also vary player to player, for sure)...and honestly, few if any posters here agree with your point of view on the subject.
But...that's the way I see it.
