something like

120 magery
100 inscribe
120 resist
120 parry
120 eval
120 meditation
20 focus

My question is if the stat loss from having to put 50 points into dex paired up with the fact that you can't chug immediately (3 second total to unequip, chug, reequip) going to hurt this too much? 40 DCI from twinkling scimitar/shield and rampart's resists go a long way in helping build the suit to try to recover from 50 dex points. Guess this is assuming you can afford to keep buying light's ramparts once they wear out too though. Should I just dump this idea and go with wrestle scribe mage?

My template (before items):

120 Eval
115 Magery (120)
110 Resist (120)
100 Parry
100 Scribe
100 Anatomy
75 Meditation

My suit:

70 DCI

100 LRC
40 LMC
15 SDI
6 FCR
2 FC

40 EP
10 HPR
15 MR
HPI 25

76/75/70/75/79

My stats with items - before/after Bless and pots:

Don't use that mage wep! I have been using the same Light's Rampart for over a year and have only worn it out once, not bad considering all the amount of blows its parried :) This suit is faction though, but the bonuses I receive - 10 DCI, 10 DEX, 3 MR - can easily be made up in a non-faction suit by using Heart of the Lion or Fey Leggings, and changing stats slightly. While you only need 80 DEX for parry to be effective, I deliberately overcapped it to 89 in case I am cursed.

Wow, exactly what I was looking for. I didn't really think about dropping med to fit in anatomy, but with 15 MR and the 20 joat focus I suppose you have plenty of mana regen.

I want this character to be guilded, so I hope not going with the faction items doesn't hurt me too much. I'll probably have to sacrifice some of the stats and MR you have, and probably some HPR too.

Thanks so much! I appreciate the help! ^____^

I've run a temp very very similar to this non faction, it is doable but that light rampart shield is the key. I think faction would help in the mana flow department also, since the hardest part of parry mage is stats/.
Open hand to chug with a shield, non disarmable. the stats threw potions to get to where you need to be. Easy to hit 70 dci and that shield has the huge cold resist to plug the hole I always have there. Fun temp but I changed mine before magic reflection came back. When I ran it I was a tank, but I run solo and the stats/lack of mana was frustrating. I think these would be awesome in a group, espeically if you fight a lot of dexxers.

*edit* I also strongly believe you need 50 EP to make the most of this temp, +62 stat points threw potions is hard to ignore.

This is the biggest point. To play a parry mage, you need at least 3 people on one and it needs to be on a dexer heavy shard.

The damage output from 1 parry mage is not enough, there is no burst damage and the lack of mana is tough.

You get 3 parry mages syncing a 2 spell dump, it will drop anyone.

Though, if you're playing against a group of necros or mystics you will be run down every time. Myst/necro have so much AoE and DoT spells that you're simply outclassed.
