Screenshots of "Old" Magincia

Since Publish 70 is likely to hit Siege sometime later this week (my guess is Friday), I thought it might be interesting for folks to post some of their pictures of "old" Magincia. I'm just a newcomer to Siege, so the best I could do is to snag a few screen shots this evening. They're just so darn bland though, compared to what I imagine you all have stored away on hard drives, online albums, etc. So, how about posting some of your most colorful Magincia screen shots? Ones with faction activity would be very cool to see, as Magincia is scheduled to lose its status as a faction city with the next publish. No more sigil, no more town stone, etc. All that will be left as a reminder is the brand new CoM stronghold outside Moonglow....

Here are my screen shots. Let's see if you can top these! (I'm very sure you can....)

I have whenever I was in factions always been Council of Mages faction.

On Siege I was actually *briefly* in CoM 2x, once with my Miranda as an ISS *initiate* of KSS* as trap tinkerer, when KSS briefly was in factions.

This later screenshot, 2007ish, is of my Jexia chr. here on Siege in the base here a couple of yrs. later when I was more of a spy FOR CoM here.

I was in Council of Mages when factions were brand new on Chesapeake.
I joined that particular faction way back then cuz the Council of Mages faction compound was the airy most difficult base TO defend, [and I liked challenges]. EA did change the CoM base somewhat cuz it was kinda silly to try to defend *airy* compound.
I know most folk here think of my chrs as 'just' lame crafters, which crafters only they are most of em are here, but when ya played UO since 98, I've played and been more, was in factions for a long time, and I even was in 'Order' back in the day in UO, too. Then they make a trammel and insurance and well bleh I came HERE, 2004 ! lol

The greatest battle of myriads of screenshots would be on Chesapeake back in the day, when a horde of Shadowlords attacked us by land, and by sea !
Ya know back when UO had so many people, more so even there on Ches. than they have now even.

It is perhaps one of my more memorable fights in UO ever. We were guarding the *land* and the moongate and of course our base itself but when a slew of ships come behind us on the sea and at that time their ARROWS flew threw the airy windows of that base......needless to say 8 sigils and a lot of us DEAD CoM peeps !

Was a trip, utterly fun and kinda ingenious to think to attack us thru the *AIRY* sea side behind us all, and yeh we LOST everything ! LOL EA changed the CoM base shortly after that, cuz all the other faction bases were not so airy easy to attack thru airy windows from ships behind us ! :)

Anyhow, this my ONLY [Siege] & a chr of mine in CoM screenshot...
kinda dull, but least you can see what the base, once looked like inside. On Siege, when I was still newer here, I actually had 6 chrs. here and no one knew any of my chrs. except for the Miranda one and the Queen Zen obviously, so I planted my unknown chrs. in TB and Minax factions and those faction bases, so they could enter those bases to SPY for CoM, and the KSS guild I was hopin to then join, whom briefly were in CoM.

'Espionage' on unknown alt. characters of mine is & has always been part of my *templates* since back in the day in UO. :)

Kinda a shame, the we Council of Magers, lost that historic base entirely with the loss of Magincia. :( lots of history/memories all shot to hell and gone, this way. Ah well.

Thanks for that post, Queen Zen. Yep, Magincia will always have a very special place in my memories. CoM was the first faction I belonged to, on Baja. Still have screen shots of my first sigil steal from TB and placing it in the CoM stronghold. I'll also never forget the first time my thief/trap remover died an inglorious death, panicking and running into the bakery shop at the foot of the bridge, only to go *splat* on the floor a split second later.

I've also got some good memories of exploring the town from top to bottom and reading all the books in the various buildings while working on stealthing. Hard to think of all that being gone for good, sometimes. Makes it kind of hard to want to give the replacement a fair shake in some ways and see if it can provide another set of new and good memories.

I thought this was going to be about actual "Old" Magincia, not the ruins of it :D Anyone have screenshots of the city before the explosion? I was a bit sad when I returned to UO, and first thing i did was hop to magincia gate to check out my old starting city. (I almost always started characters on mag) and immediately got stuck on the island, just picture the beginning of "planet of the apes", that was about my reaction.

Rats, I knew I had some pics of "the tiki bar" that was on the beach back in the day, as we used to hang out there all the time... but I fear they have been lost through computer upgrades.
