[Blacksmithing] Scale Armor...Useless?

Why would they even have such armor if it is so bad? I like the idea but seems like the resists are so terrible that you would have to waste all your imbuing efforts just on resist. Oh by the way I am a new at crafting so I may be doing something wrong. (more than likely actually)

Back before Age of Shadows hit in 2002, when it was a single Armor Rating instead of five different resists, scale mail was crafted with ingots and scales, and the Armor Rating it conferred was related to the ingots used, in addition to some bonuses dependent on the color scales used. (I think I remember green helped resisting the spell Poison, and blue with individual Lightning spells. Can't remember any others with any authority.) When the combat revamp hit, the value of scale mail (dragon armor) was hit, mightily. For the past 10ish years, it has existed almost exclusively as a ceremonial armor.

Would be nice if someone decided to make it worth the effort to craft once again.

Dude, scale armour is amazing!
Red scales provide REALLY high fire resist *without* using runics - up to 21!
The resists are spread SO unevenly it means that imbuing a resists has max impact; often cold resist is ~3 and can be imbued to 18 an increase of 15 resist points.
This meant I could make my Sampire a set of armour using reforging and imbuing with 70 fire resist without ditching my mace and shield/RBC/etc etc.

Plus it looks some kinda badass.
I want to build a full scale suit because they're just so cool lookin ;)
