For those of you who may not have seen the latest news, the moderators are attempting to fast track their fundraising efforts in order to buy Stratics.

I know many people in the rares forums don't necessarily follow the day to day non-sense in Uhall, but for those of you who legitimately use these forums, I would implore you to please open up your bank box and make a donation today.

Any amount will help. Whether it's $1, $5, $25, or more. This bring ownership of this site back to people who actually play the game, rather than end up in the portfolio of another website investor who has no true vested interest in Ultima Online.

There are several Q&A threads and other information posted in UHall. And I am sure any one who has any questions can post here too.

Absolutely. We will be working on a more polished press release-type statement in the coming days for release when the sale is finalized. If you have specific suggestions for discussion points or likely interested outlets we'd love to hear them!

In fact, there's been some word that we received an inquiry from the Washington Post. Still following up on the details but...that would be pretty darned amazing!

Perhaps this thread can be moved into General Hall so players can provide further input, i.e. give short testimonials why they think this game is still worth playing after 18 years. For me:

1. It has been part of my life since 1997-8 - more than a generation.
2. Although my children played very little off and on over the years but the nostalgia that it brings when I see certain places in game brings me flashbacks of what they were doing around that same time, e.g. I had my son when he was 5 years old back in 1997 picking up reagents in Moonglow and Jhelom so he can sell it to NPC and bring me back the gold LOL.
3. It provides the most affordable hobby for me that I can think of, collecting rares without going broke.
4. It has introduced me to friendships that although I have never met some of them in real life, I value and trust them more than some I know in real life. Some of these relationships are going on 10+ years.
5. And even till this day, 18 years later, certain aspects of this game brings out the competitor in me that keeps me interested, i.e. EM Program.

In addition to the fact that it allows us to have a hobby that does not take up space in our homes and one we can take with us where ever we go. If you have a job that requires a great deal of travel, as I do, this is certainly a nice perk when travelling from place to place.
