I d like to thank UO devs to think of poor reds.... Putting last Ricardo's books on Fel facet is really a good idea. Taking into consideration than reds are just poorer and poorer (both in gold and game terms) it s nice to force ppl to give them fun in no risk killing.
Red population is just shrinking day after day and, of course, it s not due to their behavior.... They complain all the time about overpowered new skills and act like trash most part of time... Surprisingly Dev's seem listening to them...

So thanks again to offer them a good "fun" murdering time....

I guess next step will be to create a special fund to help keeping that "nice" population alive.

The problem is that the "reds" are kindof destroying their home Felucca all by themselves. I don't blame them, because as long as game mechanics officially allow massive "griefing" tactics in Felucca (I especially mean mass-murdering without consequence), the majority of the players will not go there EVER. The point is that most of the players suck at PvP, because in order to compete you'd need exceptional equipment, good nerves and a lot of training.

The only solution would be to improve Felucca PvP rules, so people stop mindlessling killing anything that moves and rather select their targets a little more carefully. This would reduce griefing to a minimum, and it still would not destroy a PKer's playing style.

Yes, yes... because reds haven't controlled the power scroll market since... yes, that's right, the introduction of power scrolls.

Curious that you use the terms "force ppl" and "no risk killing."

The former term is untrue. No one is forced to bother with the last two books. And even those who choose to seek them out can do so in safe ways.

The latter term is precisely why Trammel was created, and why Felucca is the graveyard that it is. Because of folks like you who aren't really seeking a PvP challenge, but rather the "I pwned you, die die die!" mentality.

So... save your reds? No. Not for those reasons.

The PvPers who still compete for the challenge of it without resorting to (A) mindless killing or (b) being complete and utter jackasses... those reds I'll save.

Ah, you and I, Pike, you and I live in one of those utopian dreams where PKers are really looking for a PvP challenge.

Sure, some are.

But you're wrong. Changing the rules would destroy a PKer's playing style because there's a large audience of PKers who want nothing more than "mindless killing." If you take that away from them, you're affecting their "play style."

They'll follow their cries about how unfair such would be with, "It's risk vs. reward, baby!" Which is ironic since what they want is "mindless killing," or, translated, "no risk to me slaughterfest death to those who fall for the 'risk vs. reward' mantra."

Again, not broad-stroking all PvPers... there are people out there who enjoy PvP for the sake of PvP and the challenge a human opponent brings. They are not the ones who need speedhacks, stump hacks, or mindless killing in order to enjoy the game.

Maybe... if it was, it was extremely hard to tell though. There is some sense of sarcasm, buried with some sense of not.

*shrugs*

Hard to say... My sarcasm detector's not working on this thread. heh
