Hey guys, been playing more, and getting my skills up. At the stage where I looking to buy better items to help out my character (Sampire). My question is what weapon should I be using?

At the moment I am using Blaze of Death:

Hit Fireball 50%
Hit Fire Area 50%
Swing Speed Increase 25%
Damage Increase 35%
Fire Resist 10%
Lower Requirements 100%
Physical Damage 50%
Fire Damage 50%
Weapon Damage 18-19
Weapon Speed 4.25
Two-Handed Weapon
Skill Required: Swordsmanship
Durability 255

But I hear Soul Seeker is better because of the leech stats. Also, If SS is only one handed, what do I put in the other hand? Shield? But I heard shield is bad in the hands of a samurai.

Any help would be appreciated

You never want a Shield in the hands of Something with Parry AND Bushido.. because it lowers your Parry Chance.

With Parry + Bush it allows you to Parry with the Weapon opposed to the Shield.

120 / 120 / 80 Dex - 35% Parry 1 Hand weapon, 40% Parry 2 Hand weapon.

And yes on a Sampire Weapon you want Leeches.. Because with lets say a weapon with..

40% Mana Leech
40% Stam Leech

You have a 40% Chance (In both cause they're both 40) To leech back 50% Of the damage you did to the monster In Stam or Mana..

Aka

You hit Monster X for 150 Damage and Have Life Mana and Stam Leech (Vampire Has Natural Life Leach) (Lets say 40% Leech) If all three "Proc"

You will Leech 75 HP, 75 Mana, 75 Stam.. Because 75 is 50% of 150.

If you want to be an effective Sampire you're gonna need to run at least two different weapons. I use three weapons. Dashio, Rune Blades and a Twinkling Scimitar. Soul seeker is ok..But you can do better for a cheap price.

Each weapon has swing speed, Damage Inc. Lower attack and Stam/Mana leech. Dashio is for your hard hitting monsters (paragon balron, Paroxymous), Rune blades is the highest damage per second swords weapon there is and twinkling scimitar is the same weapon as soul seeker but when you craft it you have a chance at getting a very high DCI bonus. Great for spawns and what not.

Only time you'll ever want to use a shield is when you fight Travesty. When she takes your form she'll take the bushido/parry penalty and be easy as balls to hit. But other than her, never ever use a shield.

Suits are very easy to come by with imbuing around now. I've got a 150 hp, 182 stam 65 mana suit for rather cheap for like 2 mill worth of materials....at the most.

A soulseeker is very good for a sampire. Also try to find a titan's hammer.

Take a look at the black staff. It think it has a nice whirlwind attack and you can probably imbue up a few of those for fun.

Soulseeker is ok. But with imbuing the soulseeker is out the window...A titans hammer? really? You obviously don't play the template...

As a new char, SS is great. It is repairable, has everything you need, and available. However, as the char progresses and you get more money, like Tek said use things like daisho, leafblade, etc. You want highest DPS possible, and to make sure the weapon is at 1.25s swing speed. Even if you use a weap that has the same DPS as a 1.25 but is a 3s weap, the 1.25 is better. If you wiff twice with a slow weap on a sampire, it could be curtains, with a 1.25s weap you're swinging more and thus have a better chance to keep leeching. You don't need much mana at all, I think for my stats I run like 110/120/25.

Only reason is, run a:

Faction Crimson(10 dex)
Faction Mace and Shield (5 Dex?)
And put 15 dex on 2 jewels.

Only special you will really be needing is lightning strike and maybe feint...but doubtful. Feint is nice if you're about to bite it at 30HP fighting a paragon bally, chug a heal, feint, and start Lsing your bum off.

True, it's been a long while. I only played it on Prodo, and only for PvM, and I moved here 4 years ago.

The sampire was too item intensive for siege, but now, with imbuing, that's probably no longer true.

Also, for PVM, the soulseeker and titan's hammer are truly excellent because of the whirlwind attack. With the titan's hammer, I could survive and clear the mage room of the citadel solo. That room can have up to 16 ninja mages all casting on you at once - so it gets nasty. Whirlwind plus leeches is amazing.

Whirlwind is also superb in spawns and could be nasty in PvP during a harrower.

I understand what your saying. Whirlwind is awesome when you have lots of baddies around you. Which makes the Twinkling scimitar (which is a special Radiant Scimitar) your best weapon. Its fast, no need for maxed out ssi, so you can get more out of your leeches and other mods.

Now the War Hammer (Titans hammer) has the highest DPS rating for whirlwind, it just isn't needed. Its lacking in the SSI department big time. You'll leech more than enough life with the scimitar.

Rune Blades are your best weapon for straight damage out put. Max out at 150 stamina and dish out huge amounts of damage. You'll use your Dashio's for the special Feint. Which is good for the HARD HARD hitting bosses. Paragon bally's, Paroxymous and what not. But you'll really just need the rune blades and scimitar.

Croaker, you are correct. Imbuing has made the sampire on siege affordable to everyone. So easy to make the correct suit/weapons these days.

On prodo, before imbuing a normal sampire weapon would sell for 40mill plus. Now its just 1-2mill in ingrediants. Its awesome.
