Hi, I have just started to play with my Sampire template and I have problems to use it. I have noted the following problems:

-The speed at which my weapon swings in combat slows down at certain occasions causing me to loose the effect of life drain. When that happens I noticed that the monster doesn't slow down himself (not a lag problem) and it causes me to die.

-When fighting Miasma oftenly it starts to tail byte me two three even four times in a row inflicting me heavy irregular damages. Like 40 dmg per shot at the interval of about 2s each causing me again to die. I often have to flee the area where it spawns and I never seen a Sampire having any difficulty to fight it.

-The amount of life drained per blow has varied greatly. I tested with only the life drain from my weapon and I seen at some points in battle that it was as if I had not vamipiric embrace turned on and only my weapon was draining life (few dmg drain returns).

Mostly the problem is to stay alive while fighting Miasma or other spawns. Succubus owned me badly and I have no clue how people claim that they can fight Paragon Succubus easily. Any spellcasters destroys my Sampire.

My template does not include parrying but I know that it's not a big deal as I seen many others play a Sampire without using parrying.

My stats are 100 STR 125 DEX 10 INT.
My weapon is a Sai and it swings normally at 1.25s counting my dex.
It has 18 HLD 50 HLL 15 HCI and 50 DI and its a slayer weapon.
I have 120 fencing 100 anatomy 100 tactics 90 bushido 55 chiv 100 necro 100 healing and some med.
My armor is 70 to all resists with lots of mana increase and regen. (That's where I pick up my int from)

I thought that when you honor your ennemy and reach the highest level of perfection the system was return life drain on your hits as well as mana and luck while you are in combat just like it gives bonus physical damages on each blow.

What do I need to do to stop having these problems?

Do you have stamina leech on your wepon? If not then thats the problem.

When you get hit you loose stamina aswell as health, so with no stamina you cant swing your wepon fast so you dont leach life so you die.

My weapon is a Scorpion Slayer with 18 Hit Lower Defence, 50 Hit Life Leech, 15 Hit Chance Increase and 50 Damage Increase.

I was told that when you have 70 or more dex you don't need stamina leech.

I have also been given an uncomfirmed information which I found interesting by another player. He said that Miasma delievers critical blows only when it has full mana. That is why when you start the battle it will deliever more damages then during the rest of the combat. Afterward if you have hit mana leech on your weapon it won't do that as oftenly as at the beginning of the battle. If it has full mana it can deliever that critical blow (tail byte) 2 or 3 times easily. I'd appreciate if someone could confirm that information. I doubt this greatly but I found the information interesting enough to ask.

As a sampire, your weapons, regardless of slayer or not, should always include stamina leech as well as mana leech...having these two leechs will effectively improve your character play 1000%.

Also I wanted to talk to you about your template:
I have 120 fencing 100 anatomy 100 tactics 90 bushido 55 chiv 100 necro 100 healing and some med.
Lets do some tweaking to this, the things that are fine are, 120 fencing, 100 anatomy, 100 tactics, lets bring bushido up to 120, take healing and med off and add parrying (120 to be top of game), and take chiv up to 65-80 depending on what points you have left. Template should look like: 120 fencing, 120 parrying, 120 bushido, 100 anat, 100 tactics, 100 necro, 65-80 chiv...but Garet this is too many points, yes you are going to have to have some skill points on jewelry or armor to make up for it.

Being a sampire is HIGHLY dependant on gear:
resists on armor at least 60s+, with 95 fire(vampiric embrace takes away 25), as much stam increase as possible, mana in places you can fit, and LMC, I also run with 45 hci and 40+ DCI.

Weapon wise--- with fencing and any weapon class the Leafblade is going to top them all. In your advantage you dont have to buy a leafblade of ease and find you one to use Feint ( the best most a sampire can use, in my opinion)

If you would like to see an example of my suit feel free to contact me via PM and Ill meet ya on Atlantic shard.

They just need a good fencing wep with Feint and Whirlwind. Or just add whirlwind as a bush ability.

You have it all right. I had to get a weapon that has a lot of stamina leech and mana leech (slower swing rate problem solved) and now I am able to cast spells continually. Then my skills were wrong I had to get Parry up to minimum GM to avoid getting hit frequently but it wasn't good enough. I ran through another problem which was DCI (without 30% DCI or more I was still getting hit too much). The last error that I was doing was that I wasn't casting the spell Confidence which counts a lot if you want to receive a proper amount of life leech during a combat (life leech returns with parry when using that spell). My sampire never worked until I had all of that together.

I am just missing a new armor set with the resists adjusted for my sampire.

And in between it does cost a lot of gold to get a sampire going and you have to train long enough to know how to use it.

Phewww job done!

Thank you,
The Lost Knight
