No idea how to use this thing. The FAQ makes it sound invaluable, but I cannot figure out how to use it.

And why was it useless, Zippy?

a. The ability to salvage multiple things in 1-2 seconds, instead 1-2 seconds per item?
b. The ability to collect stuff, then recycle it all once, including cutting up multiple bone piles?
c. The bonus one gets of 1 ingot per item to all smelting done with the bag?

or

d. You don't have a clue, and are just trolling the forum?

No I don't troll. How could you even suggest Im trolling? Isn't a forum a place to express your opinion and share information? To me a salvage bag is useless, that is my opinion on the matter. I have a right to voice my opinion. I use uoassist and set a recycle bag works just fine for me. I tried to use a salvage bag and it was way more complicated.

UO assist macro takes a lot longer to recycle a bunch of stuff, The salvage bag is one quick shot and you get more metal back

Procedure for use of Salvage Bag
1-Must have scissors, axe, and be standing next to a forge for bag to work (same as UOA)
2-have desired items to recycle/salvage in bag (same is UOA)
2-single click bag to bring up gump list
4-click on option
5-resources appear in your pak

Procedure to use UOA Recycle feature
1-download UOA program (if you don't have it)
2-install
3-start it up & configure (also get the key for your UOA)
4-go to macros
5-set up macros for recycling
6-in process, pick your recycle bag
7-uhm.... pick a key for your macro
8-test macro
8a-if macro doesn't work, check your settings
9-make sure you have scissors, axe, and be standing next to a forge for bag to work
10-have desired items to be recycled/salvaged in the right bag! (maybe dye it some special color)
11-hit macro key (hopefully you picked one that doesn't clash with UO configured macro keys)
12-resources should appear in your pak
13-if doesn't work, check your UOA settings...

Honestly, once the recycle macro & bag are set, you are gtg. but if you (for some silly reason) drop the bag... it isn't gonna work when you hit the macro and then you may get all confuzzled... after all... you have all the junk in the bag! then you realze... wrong bag!!!

At lease with the UO offered salvage bag, it is colored differently from the standard color set and easily recognizable with the name on it.

Not only that, the UO Salvage bag also recycles those "reversed" leather armors often found as loot (most male leather and studded leather), that will not recycle normally, with or without a UOA recycle bag.

OK I'm clueless thinking of trying to make an imbuer, so where do you obtain salvage bags. I'm sure its listed on the boards and can't find it so if some one can point me in the right direction, I would be much obliged.

I kinda swore after making like 10 gm tailors and 10 blacksmiths when bods first came out, that I was never going to try another crafting skill LOL. But this does seem
pretty interesting, but alot more complicated to say the least.

I also read that some players may have a revised way of raising this skill for players amibtious enough to try. Crosses fingers and hopes this will be added in the not to distant future.

Thank you for your advice.

Cheers Rip

Provisioner shops carry salvage bags. Is that what is used for unraveling?

Hmm could have sworn I looked for them on provisioners the other night, but it was very late and my eyes were getting blury. Thank you.

It is used for smithing and tailoring unravleing but not imbuing unraveling although any bag could be used to unravel for imbuing so I guess the salvage bag could be used also through the imbuing menu gump instead of the bag menu.

Now that the imbuing menu does unravel container, the Salvage bag is good for doing your training in imbuing. Anything you don't want to unravel after imbuing 10-20 times, you can just salvage (though personally, I'd just unravel and be done with it).
