The Japanese team seems to have a different (perhaps higher) standard for their shards. They're the same people who decided not to follow suit and add a level 6 arcane circle outside of Brit Bank because it would devalue the one that you have to adventure to.

In short, the Japanese team probably caught wind of the exploit and decided to shut it down before it spread too far. Whereas the US shards are still... fully exploitable.

I will say that I hope that this doesn't lead to a long string of bannings, because it's a silly exploit to ban over. On the other hand, it'd be a pretty good idea to wipe the server of 3.0 SoTs or turn them into .03s or something to make up for the temporary imbalance.

It is mechanically similar to a dupe. It introduced far more of an item into the economy than is intented to be possible.
There's no direct comparison, really. It's probably somewhere between dupe and large scripting operations.

Anyway, the situation's worse through two extremes:
1.) The 3.0 SoT is a very nice prize. Three times as nice as the best SoT from a Fel champ spawn.
2.) The exploit allowing a massively increased number of the scrolls to enter the game.
One of those, by itself, would be bad enough. Quality or quantity that is disproportionate with the rest of the game.

People are using the same character to do that puzzle over and over as many times they want per day ?

Well... knowing what it is that's going on, it's a bit silly for it to be happening in the first place. I agree that it's introducing a lot more of the SoT's than were intended in the short term... will it have lasting long term effects? I guess that depends on how widespread it really is, how often it is happening, et cetera.

At least Japan put a stop to it. I'm still wondering why it hasn't been stopped here.

Nobody's going to answer those questions, popps, and it's not to be rude. Simply put, answer any details about what is happening will lead to it worsening.

Understand, only do not understand whether the moltiplication of SoTs is due to, say, duping of them or because the same character is allowed to run it as many times wished per day while it should be only once per day.

Because if it is players using all of their characters, each once per day to run the puzzle, well, then I do not think it could be called an exploit since it is per design.

I am only able to do the room once a day on my characters, but because I can never remember when I went thru on them, and I keep forgetting to write the times down, I wait a day between runs and only take them every other day myself. I hope they continue to give out the 3 points SOT, so far I have gotten one that I could use and I hope to get more, *keeps looking for the 3 points on poisoning*

Trial accounts, return to brit program. What about deleting chars? Is there a timer for it?

I've only gotten a couple if the 3 point SOT's and I hope they don't shut down due to a few people who have to exploit the system. I always forget when I went before so I maybe go once every few days with some of my chars.

I just want to find one, its been almost 11 years.


Guess thats why the totem and everything is dirt cheap. A bizzillion puzzles can be done in a day.
