Sleep - In Zu - Puts one creature into a temporary sleep state. In this state, the creature will be unable to attack or cast spells, and will move at a much slower speed. It will awaken if harmed or after a little bit of time passes.
Reagents: Nightshade, Spiders' Silk, Black Pearl

Mass Sleep - Vas Zu - Same as Sleep except works on multiple creatures in a small area of effect.
Reagents: Ginseng, Nightshade, Spiders' Silk.
Death of peacemaking?

Death of peacemaking?
I doubt it will be death of peacemaking. Peacemaking is an instant on... now peacemaking in conjunction with mysticism could give you a pretty good level of control.

Also, peacemaking keeps things frozen in place as you beat on them (for a little bit). That's a considerably more powerful ability.

Also, ae peace stops combat for everything near you, which is even better than the mass sleep.

Where I see mass sleep being useful in pvm will be in tactically organizing monsters to where you want them. The monsters can't hit you or cast spells, but they can still move. This means you can basically corral them into a choke point and field them in. Then you can lay down the hurt.

The sleep spells will also be useful for bards using provoke or discord, because it lets you basically make things stop beating on you without using your skill timer. This means you can basically slow down a bunch of stuff and start discording or provoking. Serious balance considerations need to be made for that reason. I could easily see a discord/provoke/mystic being crazy powerful for crowd control.

Peace, on the other hand, remains useful for crowd control, because it freezes a target in place, which allows you to split targets up and focus on individuals. Peace also remains useful on casters, because you can stop things from fighting while you close on them to cast AE spells. Peace basically reduces how much you get interrupted.

As a peace tamer, I would like to clarify a few things from my point of view.

1) Peacing doesn't calm everything around you. You peace a target and it stays calm for an instanced period of time which is nearly impossible to determine even with the screen flashes. The only way I've been able to judge a creatures calmness using peacing was by experience. For example, If I peace a mare, from experience I know it lasts roughly for about 30seconds - 1 minute.

2) Area peacing is not actually peacing. Its just calming. It breaks aggrovation but animals can instantly reaggro if they're wild. No need for an example.

3) This skill almost seems like its a reflection of peacemaking. Personally If I find that it works better than the skill it self I'd drop the skill altogether. In my opinion thats a bad thing. There shouldn't be a spell as powerful or more powerful than a skill.

4) When you do peace critters, they don't stay in one spot. Animals such as hiryu, nightmares, cu sidhe and even giant beetles etc commonly wander when peaced. I don't know where you're getting that from.

Again this is from my experience and I've been a bard/tamer for over 3 years with legendary peace making and music.

EDIT:

In conjunction with peacing, yes it would be a very powerful benefit to tamers. My only problem is that it may prove to powerful and lead to skill desertion meaning instead of requiring a powerful skill, you can free that slot up and use something else such as provoke etc and still be more effective.

Personally its one of those skills that sounds good but when its implemented, itll cause more problems than its worth due to extreme miscalculations and balance control.

Mysticism sounds freaking awesome!

I'll bet $100 that whatever the new skills are they will be stupidly unbalanced especially in PvP for one year after release to sell the product. After this the devs will slowly bash them with the nerf stick.

Kingdom Reborn = disaster because stubborn old people refused to upgrade their 20 year old computers to play it... I can run it just fine, and it looks good and plays good, on a computer from 3 years ago.

Personally, I think they are all awesome additions to this game. It gives it variety... just to start and they are fun to play.

Difference: I think the Dev team in the past was less concerned with balance than the Dev team of now.

I'm not saying things will come out perfect, but they are willing to work with us and at a much faster rate than of before.

They're also telling us what their plans are months before the scheduled release date, so we can point out potential problems.

I think mysticism is going to be really cool...

Wrong. I have a computer capable of running multiple instances of KR without lag and I still refuse to use it because it is garbage.

I call it garbage after giving it more than it's fair chance. I kept going back and trying it over and over as it got patched just to see if it ever got ironed out to the point it was usable and my conclusion is that it is not. And THAT is why I refuse to use it not because I am stubborn and don't want to buy a new computer. Time to stop making assumptions about why other people do things.

Someone be sure to ask if Garlic in Mysticism spells damages players in Vampiric Form. This was brought up on our forum.

/Ditto

Two of my characters, both very simple button-mash mainstream builds (chiv/bush/etc) are perfectly playable in KR and 11 aren't. Those 11 aren't so exotic, either. My main is a ninja-shepherd, doubly cursed with KR issues, but my other chars are pretty standard fare.

Mysticism seems intriguing. I gather from the reagents listed that bones & fertile dirt will be available in quantity, possibly from NPCs?

You guys can not be serious. You are actually welcoming cc to UO. Thats freaking hilarious. EA makes a game that has as one of its pvm selling points that it will never use cc (WAR) because the people in WoW have despised cc since the birth of the game and then it thinks its a good idea to introduce cc to UO in its attempt to turn UO into nothing more than another WoW clone (with worse graphics and more screwed up systems but with plants and houses). This is a really stupid change period.

My computer is not 20 years old. It plays WoW just fine. However, KR itself was RIDDLED with bugs and issues. Not being able to use UO Assist and having to rely on the stupidity that was the macro system in KR was stupid. Having a crafting menu with a craft all ability that didn't even work was another huge problem. It was completely inept in design, so don't blame people that are running classic UO on machines capable of running higher end games for the issues with KR.

KR looks good? Ok. That's a subjective opinion so I will accept that. But, for many many many players, its hideous looking. Playability issues aside, its just ugly. I have a pc that can run WoW pretty well. KR still looks ugly. I have a pc that can run most of the current pc games out there pretty well. KR still looks ugly. I am pretty sure that I could have a 10million dollar rig and KR would still look ugly. Putting Rosanne Barr in a Ferarri is an improvement, sure. But she is still ugly no matter what she is riding in.

Protip: WoW isn't very hard to play "fine" on your computer.

Anyway, I can play Crysis at near max quite easily with 0 lag... and KR still looks terrible.

I have a pretty sweet machine. Its less than a year old. I will not play KR at all. If its UI was the same as 2d with the 3d Grafix I probably would be playing it. UO out of all the other games out there has the most unique UI its also the best. The others like WoW, EQ, WAR, SWG, AOC dont compare at all. In fact if SA client dosnt have an option to use the old UI I probably wont use that either.

Ive played WoW for quite some time (years) and have never heard the term "cc". You might want to not use some random crappy acronym and actually say what you mean.

I can see your future:"Hey boss, I need more gp in the pc cause my ll raised my rent. If I don't pst him and let him know the gp is gonna be in his mb Ill get my butt thrown out asap. Thats qq for me. kk?"
