SA Questions

Do you need SA to be able to train imbuing?

Is it best to train imbuing as a Gargoyle or as a human?

Can you change from Human to Gargoyle and if so, is it difficult?

Where's this "Queens Soul Forge" located?

The Queens Forge is in the big pink building in the water in Royal City, As seen above. Just head to Royal City via a moongate.

Gargoyles get extra imbuing bonuses and success chances. As stated by another person, it is better to train as a human or elf and then change into a gargoyle. Because of the gargoyle's increased success, you will have to use more resources to continue to gain.

Human/Elf to gargoyle can only be achieved with a race change token or character creation at this point in time. There is no race change quest for gargoyles. You either start a new character as one or use a token to change into a gargoyle. Tokens will be going up in price due to the newest racial ability changes which put gargoyles in a more favorable light.

The Queen's Soul forge is in the royal city in ter mur (This is the main city). It exists inside the queen's palace in the middle of the city (Look for blue ramps). It's on one of the floors there. It is important to note that you must have adequate loyalty to the queen in order to use the queen's soul forge (You can't use it right from the start). Loyalty can be gained through certain ter mur quests as well as killing creatures in ter mur.

Yes, you need it to access imbuing, mystism and throwing.

Is it best to train imbuing as a Gargoyle or as a human?
Gargoyles get a slight racial bonus to imbuing, but I don't think it's large enough to hamper training. I used a gargoyle and haven't found it overly difficult.

Can you change from Human to Gargoyle and if so, is it difficult?
Yes, but you will need a race change token, there's no quest. You can find a token on player vendors.

Where's this "Queens Soul Forge" located?
In the lower levels of the royal palace in Ter Mur. You need a certain amount of loyalty to the queen to use it though.

Have to disagree on the gargoyle is better for training part - training as a human, on a home based forge, keeps the difficulty at all levels of training higher, and makes the costs of actual training quite a bit less, and in theory, quite a bit faster.

Plenty of good discussion on it over in the crafter forum, including a brand spanking new guide from Basara.

This is correct. It is better to train as a human on a home forge. Once you are all trained up.. then you want to use the skill on a gargoyle at the queens forge. But Guido is correct... for training do it on a human at home forge. It will save you a lot of money.

How do you get loyalty points as a crafter?

And where are players getting these tokens from?

It is better to train as an elf or human so the skill itself is harder, which makes training easier and also uses less of the higher end resources, keeping with the lower end ones much longer in training.

Thanks for the head's up, I didn't consider the increase bonus would have an effect on overall chance, thus leading to an increased cost in resources.

I think some folks temporarily soulstone melee or magery skills onto their crafter to kill Ter Mur monsters and get their loyalty to 10k, then return their crafter to a full-time crafter.

Someone more knowledgeable should correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe the tokens come from buying the SA expansion. I bought the SA upgrade and didn't receive any tokens, so the tokens must come from buying the non-upgrade version.

It was a limited time thing, although it lasted much longer then what they said. I bought the upgrade the day it came out and got 3 Race Change Tokens, 3 SA Statuette Tokens, and a Vollem Held in a Crystal. You could sit in the bank and spam buying a race change token and probably get one for a couple mil.

Another option - cheaper than buying a Human-to-Garg token is to train the skill on a human, then soulstone it, make a new character (Gargoyle) with Magery 50, Hide 50 skills. add mage jewel set, +15 Tokuno mage spellbook and some scrolls and you have a 90ish Mage. Kill 70-100 stone sliths by casting 2 EV's then hide/invis - and you will have the needed Loyalty in 2-3 sessions. Then soulstone over Imbue and whatever other craft skills (I would suggest Tinker and/or Smith).

Anyone know the answer to these two questions?
My artificer is also a mage/mystic... and had no issue getting 10k loyalty points - it was all part of the same plan - got my skill ups on 2 casting skills, got plenty of items to unravel for future use in imbuing/skilling up, got more than a few imbuing ingredients, several hundred items to turn in to Axem for more loyalty/gems/gold/etc...

As for the race change token, I got mine in Luna for 650k... and no longer intend on using it. As noted by the thread by Speedy Orkit, the benefit in no way outweighs the downside(s).
