Devs

not sure you are aware, but, the SA quest carpets, when left behind after idoc block new houses from being placed

They do not decay with idoc or after, but stay locked down and cannot be axed,or removed by players

can a fix be considered for this?

Thanks

a few mins later the offending carpet tiles are removed

a new house is placed:)

THEN i get a canned reply from GM Brutrin saying we understand but cannot help?

is there a Left hand does not know what the Right hand issue going on?

so to the HELPFUL person that removed the tiles, THANK YOU

A GM's not going to be able to comment any more than they ever have, since they don't post here.

I believe you can double click the carpet and pick them up yourself, I once called a GM and whilst waiting tried to click them and it worked!

This was at a house that had fallen too, not in my own house.

Try that. :)

I placed over a water trough a couple weeks ago and it vanished so it seems that at least they don't block house placement anymore.

The double clicking the carpet suggestion IS a good idea to try so long as the carpet hasn't become 'static' I think the word is?

I had gold boxes stacked 4 high in my castle and the top one became one with its surroundings, even though I released it to replace it with one that would hold more than 25 items, it would not highlight yellow nor could it be moved.

I left it for while because it seemed kind of cool, but since I really needed that spot for more storage I decided to try turning it to see if that would make it movable again.

I secured it and used the house tool to turn it, then released it and yay! it was movable again.

'Course that doesn't help with idoc leftovers.

Anyone have any idea why some things become static?

if you were the owner or co-owner of the house that fell you can dbl click them and pick them up. I've also done this after a house I was co-owned to fell.

actually, a house fell & the carpets were on ground, I wasnt NEVER accessed/friended/coowned/owner of that house

I double clicked carpets & picked them up.......

I looked really deep into my journal and myself and my friend El were able to double click and remove carpets from an IDOC, We weren't friended either.

the issue i had was with a carpet on the roof of an idoc'd 18x18 you cannot reach them to double click, and in place they do block placement

however, as some people play the enhanced client i wonder if zooming out will allow my to see the carpets where 2d will not allow

anyway just to let you know GM's will remove carpets and items sooner or later

Always use the EC when placing houses :)
You can see so much more of the playarea.

And if the carpet sits on 3rd floor you have to go rather far south east of it to pick it up... so I guess playing the 2d client with a stampsized playarea will make those carpet pieces unreachable :)

Go with the flow... play EC
