I suppose these sites have spoiled me to be lazy, and I know there is absolutely something to be said about going out and discovering things on your own, but is anyone else surprised there isn't more content being posted on these sites about Stygian Abyss?

Don't get me wrong, what's there now is first rate (especially the Stratics documentation of the Abyss entry test and the puzzle spoiler on UOGuide) but there's not much being posted on the hunter database comments, documentations of the quests (outside of the forums).

Of course I can get off my ass and do it myself instead of complaining about it, but I still am unaware of a lot of the deeper topics, being a very casual player....

far as I know, the Stratics pages are pretty much filled with information from players, donating their time and talents to the effort, and with everyone pretty much still learning, and with things changing as they do with a new release, it will take some time to get all the little holes filled in

people like Tina Small don't grow on trees, ya know!

The scope of additions with Stygian Abyss is just overwhelming compared to the two previous expansions. I have been trying to add stuff to UOGuide as I come across it. But I am also very busy playing the new expansion, as I suspect many regular UOGuide contributors are. There are probably an addition 1,000 pages that can be created on Stygian Abyss additions.

I estimate within the next 2 weeks all the major subjects should be covered: the 3 skills, the 2 Peerless, the 2 Champion Spawns, imbuing details, monster stats, etc.

If you have information on Stygian Abyss which is currently not on UOGuide you can always add it in yourself. All it takes is registering an account and you can get right to it. It is as easy as posting on a forum. Changes appear instantly on the site.

it's a great testiment to the the awesome expansion that we have, that there is so much to document that it's taking weeks to do so. There is so much new content, so thoughtfully, and involvingly (if that's a word, ha!) done that the expansion can't be experienced in just one week.

everyone is working their buns off getting stuff documented and I'm sure in a couple of weeks, there will be much more to look at

Yeah I think there is just so much stuff. And how can you do a complete write up when there seem to be mysteries wherever you go!

Like those body parts at the acid slug mini champ (or did someone figure those out), items like boura furs and what to do with them (ditto...?) Heck I was running around and at the very edge of the abyss I saw a treasure chest in an area I couldn't get to as a human, and I don't have a garg. I was dying to find out what was over there.

How about all the dark creatures that seem to be coming in from the edges of the abyss, that grow stronger when left alone? I think they pick fights with the other spawn and grow kind of like plague beasts get stronger. But is that all there is to them? Is the abyss leaking into the world? Are there going to be repurcussions (like landscape blights, or animals becoming abyss-ified like blackrock used to infect spawn etc)

Probably not a mystery to anyone else, but I got one of those draconian orbs (lesser), it's a champ key timer I think. I have no idea where to use it. I ran inside the big building next to the fairy dragon spawn and put it on the marble tile thingy there but nothing happened. I've never done the key/champ thing so I probably did it wrong anyways.

Those orbs are totally cute, they flicker and are the prettiest blue (girly squeal)! I am hoping they show up without the timer as a monster reward. They would make awesome ornaments for a giant tree, or something else fun. Oh and I just love those little fey wings off of the fairy dragons. I felt bad killing them till I got some of those wings, too precious (more girly squealing)!

Ok I got off on another tangent. The books are something else that is a mystery. Most likely they are just books, but possibly there is some kind of easter egg slipped in there? You never know. I don't *really* think we can make a hot air balloon...probably can't...yeah.

A balloon that takes humans and elves along the gargoyle superhighway would be made of awesome. And it would be confined - i.e. it has a specific use that isn't readily abusable.

And how do you write about something if you haven't yet experienced it yourself?
We have to find out the information before we can put it on the site. Or are you thinking EA send us a full set of documentation and all we have to do is upload it?

We're not paid professional writers, we're not given the information. We're players just like you who just happen to also volunteer on a fan site. We have to find things out for ourselves.

Um, I'm not slamming the UOSS staff here. I also meant the user comments in the hunter's guide. There isn't a single entry.

And besides which, I'd be happy to contribute some pieces as well, if I had the knowledge, I'd be delighted to contribute. However, as I can play an hour a night these days (if I'm lucky), I do not feel I can be a reliable resource in this regard. But I'm sure many of us would contribute.

heh oki, oki. I'll go check out some of the hunter's guide entries. They have to be approved before they show. There'll be 40 or 50 viagra adds to get rid of too.

I'm really kind of amazed at how much info Petra, Tina, Stupid Miner, and others have already been able to compile. I feel like I've played a great deal, yet what I know seriously pales in comparison to any one of these folks. You guys are machines and your hard work is much appreciated!
