[Feedback] Rustic & Gothic pack information

This thread is meant to be used for item graphic and item function information. If you want to criticize the packs in general, please use the Herald discussion thread. I will edit the thread as I gain more information.


Left-most barrel is an Empty Liquor Barrel, keg is a Metal Keg, benches are Rustic Benches, chest is Chest of Sending, and the Raised Garden Bed is a small sized Bed.

Rustic Theme Pack
* Topiaries – goblin and llama – Entitled players can use clippers on a hedge and get the choice of a topiary
-Error: Big white hedge crafted in Magincia 3/17, clippers used and it just made clippings, no choice (GM made clippers, different facing than TC stock?)

Attempt #2, Small Black Hedge, Give Resources Clippers = Clippings, no choice


* Rustic Bench - Craftable (south and east)
-Req. 94.7 Carpentry (Misc. Add-Ons) and 35 boards/logs
-Created in deed form
-Axe to re-deed

* Raised Garden Bed – New Haven Docks, White Statue)
-Comes in deed form
-Maintenance free garden bed
-South and East facings
-Two size choices every time you re-deed, Large (6 plants) or Small (4 plants)
-Fertile Dirt prompt if any is found in your pack (20 needed if used)
-Allows you to harvest resources (there was a rumor they wouldn't allow it for some reason)
-Axe to re-deed


Empty Liquor Barrel and the Distillery (east).

* Distillery – Craftable - Have a drink or two and tell us what you think.
-Req. 90 tinkering and 2 empty metal kegs, 4 heating stands, and 1 copper wire
-High failure rate (50% at 100), copper wire and metal kegs may poof on failure
-Comes in deed form; re-deedable
-East and South facings
-Heating Stand (60 tinker & 4 ingots, old item)
-Metal Keg (85 blacksmithy and 25 ingots); error: does not show graphic of keg in menu
-"Copper wire is a stealable item from blacksmith crates and chests." - Frarc
-"Copper wire from Buccs den or Serpent's hold smithy, either facet. In the barrels or the crates." - Petra Fyde
-Has a craft menu and individual recipes for each type of ale


Distillery craft menu.

-Empty Liquor Barrel (60 carp. and 50 boards/logs); can be crafted w/ exceptional player's mark; "this barrel is for distilling" when dbl clicked (you actually have to have the barrel in your backpack, lol sorta weird...also, you have to have one barrel per a drink it seems...well, we'll see how much product it makes...reminds me of Sim Farm silos

Here's an example of an easy, and very cool, customizable brandy (the other ones don't seem to have labels and the like):



However, you can fail--and if you do you get a Magery spell failure noise--and you can lose product (four empty glass pitchers, thanks...).

Here's the result:



Note the bottle is made simply by a double-click of the barrel, after which the item is sent to your backpack. This particular type, brandy, creates 10 bottles of ale.

Ale Use and Function:
*Spoilers*
If you dbl-click a brandy, for example, you can throw it at a friend, which will create a dialogue between you and the friend such as "It's on me!," "Wow!" The action will put the ale into your friend's backpack, and you can't throw another one at the friend until he removes it (as to prevent griefing, I would imagine...however, we'll have to test this possibility more). When you drink them normally, you now say new fun things instead of just *hic,* such as, "...I'm not wasted...."

Distillery Ingredients:
* "Yeast is a drop from orcs, posted on UHall by Reffi0105" - Petra Fyde
* "Melons (honeydew melon, watermelon and cantaloupe) all can be bought from a farmer." - Zurhet Pebblethief
* "Dates are also a stealable item from provisoners crates." - Frarc
* "you may also get dates from begging" - pacific cruiser
* Wheat Wort requires 0 cooking (ingredients sub-menu) and 1 flour, 1 water, and 1 empty bottle - Cailleach
* Bowl of Corn is found on bartender npcs or innkeeper npcs
* Bowl of Potatoes is found on bartender npcs or innkeeper npcs
* Tribal Berries are found on tribal savages
* Jar of Honey is found on baker npcs
* Pitcher of Water is found on bartender npcs or innkeeper npcs
* Pitcher of Wine is found on bartender npcs or innkeeper npcs



* Board and Batten wall tiles – Housing Customization tool
-I have no interest in testing these, will leave them up to someone else.

* Access to the Encampment System – Commodity Broker or Pet Broker - Additional documents will be posted to explain this feature
-I think Storm covered this system already


Gothic Theme Pack
* Gargoyle Statues - Craftable
-Not sure where they are if not masonry? But didn't see any that required a pack

* Ritual Table - Craftable
-94.7 Carpentry (Masonry) and 8 stones
-Haven't built one yet for further information

* Chest of Sending (New Haven Docks, Red Statue)
-Sends a single item or stack (no containers) from your house to your bank
-50 charges
-Auto Recharges (Over 1 hr, less than 12 hrs)

12:26am -> 12:30 pm recharged over this period of time (including assumed downtime, if any)

* Advanced Training Dummy – Craftable - Will train your weapon skills to 60.
-Req. 90 tinkering and 1 training dummy deed, 1 platemail tunic, 1 close helmet, and 1 broadsword
-East and South facings

* Gothic Wall Tiles – House customization tool
-I have no interest in testing these, will leave them up to someone else.

Pigments of Tokuno:
Chest of Sending - You cannot dye that
Rustic Bench, Empty Liquor Barrel, Metal Keg - You can only dye artifacts and enhanced magic items with this tub

I assume you can use a furniture dye tub on the Barrel and Keg; the Keg looks wooden, rather than metal, but maybe the Keg can be dyed with a metal dye tub. The benches come in deed form and I don't think you can dye things that come in deed form anymore.

The Gothic tiles are nice you should look at places people have made..people who can design that is.

Copper wire is every 14 min or so i beleive.
I can see the booze making last a few weeks then thats it, unless they bring in beers..

I still can not find yeast. i have tryed bakers,cooks,innkeepers even the Abbey monks and nada, farmers dont have or aclhemist....think they forgot to add.

It can not be crafted using cook or alchemist skill.

The flower beds are nice , but you get no seeds or resources, so kind of useless unless you like plants for dyes only.

The stall set up is interesting, the buy and sell option is nice but they should set buy info one color and sell another.

I would go more for the Rustic pack myself if anything...the statues are nice in Ghotic but how many statues do you need oe a box that lets you send stuff to a bank.

And if your bank box is full it will not send it..

So far looks good but the Humility for Magincia does not come accross very well having it as a mini mall set up..

Actually I'd say it looks very humiliating....

The Dev Team completely let us down with New Magincia. It's a shrine to gross commercialism, NOT "Humility."

For these pixelcrack packs to be associated with its rebuilding is a further insult to the legacy of Ultima. :talktothehand:

Let me make this very clear! TC forum is for Testing things and discussing those tests IT IS NOT for bashing people or the product if you have constructive ideas or changes this is fine but to just say this blows and so does this game etc etc if you have these comments take them somewhere else!

I would like to get some pictures of the tiles up, but if I change my walls then I have to take down all the items in the house, haha. I'll try to pan around Luna maybe and see if I can find someone's house, but it's difficult since it's a copy of GL and a lot of the houses won't ever be touched.

Hm for copper wire, I assume what you do is lockpick a gold box found in a smithy shop, use telekinesis or remove trap three times to get rid of traps, then open up the box and look for the copper wire to steal? I went to about a dozen shops, Britain, Minoc, Vesper, Trinsic, and Jhelom, and I the closest I saw was a pair of horse shoes. It's going to take forever to find 1 copper wire, lol.

Thx Petra, I ended up using the new Character Copy and ported over 15 copper wire from Ches, lol ;P

What i do for the copper wire is to steal all items out of crates/chests from Smith and armor shops. Then wait till all chests/crates respawn. They respawn locked and trapped after a few minutes again. Then usualy contain several items to steal. Just repeat this over and over.

No problem, I like to get back to collaborative efforts here and again ;)...it's a nice escape from UHall back and forth, hehe. Added some info on the finished brandy, and a spoiler of how they interact with players.

There is a place in Magincia far right somre did in Ghotic tiles..
I know im slow at times to respond..

There is 4 diferent kinds of yeast, some with + or minus bacteria to it. not sure if it makes differents in brewing.

But i think the ++ would make stuff femnnt faster and beter...and the -- would be for a slow fermantation..

As for Llama headges and goblins i think ther ok..but they just look weird, may be the color mix, in old and EC they look off.

Some feedback on the pet vendors: It would be nice to know when you purchase a pet how many owners it has already had. I believe you a pet can reach a point where it will not bond with a character or transfer in a trade if it's already had too many owners.

Also, does anyone know if you can purchase a pet that requires taming and lore skills if your character trying to make the purchase doesn't have an adequate level in those skills?

Day 4 on the raised bed plantings on TC1 and still no names on the darn things. They show up now in various colors, but when you mouse over them, it just says "Young Plant."



Top to bottom and then sideways, these are blue plants, plain plants, red plants, and yellow plants. They all came from seeds collected from boglings so I have no idea what they will be when they mature. The Reproduction gump still shows just X's for pollen, resources, and seeds.

Edited to add: Actually, now that I think back on the number of seeds collected, it seemed like yellow seeds dropped least often, so in the bottom row of beds, it may be that the ones on the left (west) are yellow plants and the ones on the right (east) are red plants.

Good point. Do you know if plants from "identified" seeds give the name though, when they are growing in the raised beds? Or do they also just say "young plant"?

Well the unfortunate thing about makers mark and labeling is I think it applies only to Brandy, and no other drink...I'll have to take a spin to verify :(.

But regarding this picture:


The label is whatever you want to say, such as "Happy Birthday!" for example. The makers mark button is a toggle, on or off, and any character can be used to create the process (all you need for the distillery is the ingredients, no actual skills are required so you can use any character you want for the name to apply).

I'll see if using a different character post-maturation yields a different marker's mark (bearing in mind my barrel still has 8 "charges" left, from the brandy).

Ill have to ask Tina but it seems as if the plants jump to stage 9 unless I haven't been checking. I only grew mutated plants, not sure what Tina is growing.

I have a house just north west of the hedge maze which is out of Skara. Its the board and baton one. Not sure if its public or not right now.

Something I noticed about the Advanced Training Dummy (South). It wont recognize my player crafted broadsword (had to buy from npc) but I could make the tunic and helm fine.

This was with a regular hammer u get out of the bank box and GM Smithing with no Arms Lore.

Also, dunno about the others, But I got it to label Whiskey and Bourbon too as well as Brandy.

Ah they changed Test from GL to Pacific. Don't know much I'll test now since they got rid of everything I was working on, haha...

Yep, just logged on too and it seems like TC1 is now a clone of Pacific. Not sure I want to bother with testing anything else now. Didn't get to finish messing with what I already had set up to see if there were any problems. Oh well.

Okay I can confirm, the beds do in fact allow you to harvest seeds/petals.
