I had to walk away for a few days...cool off a bit and lick my wounds. I didnt want this to be some rage quitting post like it would have been had I posted a week ago. My intentions here are only to raise community awareness.

I was one of those folks who lost a crap load of rubble during the initial rubble deletion bug. My situation was basically a perfect storm. Having won a mag plot on Pac, in preperation to xfer to my new home I stowed away all of my very best rubble pieces in my bank thinking it would be safer there. I waited to xfer, there were a few other things I needed to get packed- then logged in and out in mag a few times with my xfering char to see how others placed in Atl at the location I had won on Pac. Meh. Rubble deleted.

A month later and untold emails to Mesanna and it seemed like all would be fixed. And in this effort I am extreemly appreciative, however the end result was less then acceptable.

What I recieved in replacement was only a handful of what I had actually lost, the remaining items were filled with common graphics like crumbling walls, and none of the items held any weight, they were all 1 stone. Then there were replacements that couldn't possibly have been "verified" such as a rubble cypress tree...yes I kid you not a cypress tree. When I emailed Mesanna back and told her that there were problems I was told that the back up was gone and sorry but she did the best she could. Now I know she is a busy lady, and she does alot for the community, but i couldnt help but feel like I had just been told to p*** off.

I participated heavily in the rubble event, I bought what I could when I could to fill in the gaps of the items that were missing from my collection- I LOVED my rubble collection almost to an unhealthy level only to have it all get deleted. I suppose yes I could go about re-collecting everything though I would need over a bil to do so, I think I could raise the money selling everything else I own...but the principal of the matter just chews on me. The amount of pain this whole thing caused me borders on the ridicules, and I am mad at myself that I cant seem to get over it....

I am leaving UO indefinitely, It has stopped being entertaiment, and now is only a source of frustration and anger. I hope that those of you whom recieved replacement rubble had a better experience then I did, and should you see a rubble cypress tree and rubble with 1 stone weight you will know its sad origins.

I am so sorry for what happened to you, and I feel your pain. I would have been screaming with rage if this happened to me.

Well dang, I still haven't received my replacement rubble yet, nor have I heard anything from Mesanna. Hopefully I hear something soon....

It is sad, i know some devs have a good intention and they planned to recover some rubble that were lost on magincia, but the problem is they are really clueless about this game so a rubble of 1 stone weight doesnt surprise me. When she was giving out pets to the people that lost them on a failed EM boat event on catskills, she didnt know that a pet should be created (wild) then tamed (reduced stats/skills) and then handed out to players. So.. she just created new pets and transferred to players and of course they end up with overpowered greater dragons, dread warhorses and of course (lol) someone asked her a blaze dog. Not 100% sure, but i think the dog was finally deleted. Anyway, my point is.. good intentions but they dont know this game.

Yep, that's when it's time - same here - sadly, nobody cares either.
Sell out, get what cash you can from it, use it on a different mmo (and the problem Isn't EA), or just have an extra brew in the pub - either way, it makes all that end.

Some of the rubble that you were given as replacements sound exceedingly rare... If you got rubble items that don't exist as rubble elsewhere, you can probably just sell them and be able to buy your old collection.

Yeah I thought about it, believe me...but idk many serious collectors that would take a chance on an item that was not traditionally part of the event. There is a huge chance the devs will delete it. That and Im not entirely sure the equation would add up...But I suppose it couldnt hurt, here is what I got that was not mine to begin with:

Trading the following:
1 stone Rubble Cypruss tree, several common graphic plants and wall chunks @ 1 stone, 1 stone rubble necklace (round POM graphic) and a south facing original tapestry 1 stone

For the rubble items that were lost:
Playing cards (facing west), Daemon Bone, Wyrms Heart, Bandage, Wooden sign hanger (pointing south) 2 piece Bar table (running North-South), 3 piece smooth Yew? Table (has the carved single end legs, running north-south), Pillars X4, Fire Pit, Saddle, several Mushrooms, Metal Chest, Long Pants, crap brown fern (very rare hue), Teal tent corner, Teal tent (flowing) x2, Open Book, Sandstone Blocks X4, Dock X7 (I was relplaced 1 that was missing), Charcoal Yucca tree, Debris Planks, Wall Sconce X2 (facing south), Curved Stair X2 (1 SW corner, 1NW corner), Regular table, Stairs X2 (running east-west), church bench (facing East), Blue Carpet corners x2, grave dust, center display chunk (1 was replaced, lost 2)

Also I recieved 2 coconut trees as apposed to the 1 coconut tree and 1 tall palm that I lost...

IDK...any takers :p

I think anyone getting stuff back is just lucky they are getting anything back and to sit here and whine about it is poor form indeed.

I lost my ship a couple of weeks ago. Logged in on Saturday, did some fishing, refreshed the boat, Sunday it was gone.

I lost about 150mil in rubble due to gypsy camps... anyone offer to replace what I lost... nope.

Given the number of items in this game that are lost due to bugs and poor programming by OSI/Mythic/EA the fact that you got anything, you should be greatful- especially considering everyone else that has lost stuff in similar circumstances and was told they can't replace items lost.

Ugh... Tribute. It pains me to see you leave the game, but I understand. I really wish they'd replace your rubble. I know how much it meant to you and your house designs were absolutely amazing on Atlantic. I think the dock/pirates one near Zento was my favorite.

Probably won't mean anything to the powers that be, but for what it is worth I have no doubt of your integrity with your list. Please Devs, replace her items.

Tribute, I didn't know you on a personal level, but every interaction I've had and the way you have presented yourself has been pristine and honorable. I wish you the best of luck and thank you for being one of those collectors who did it for the passion and not profit.

Hmmm...IDK what to tell ya. Your right, I have no grounds to be "whining", I am thankful that I recieved what replacements I did...But I think I am also justified in being angry, as is anyone whom looses items due to bugs and poor programming, in my particular case I lost a huge chunk of enjoyment from the game- decorating, and while that may not mean much to some, that WAS my UO.
How dare we as consumers expect more from a product that we pay monthly for, that we pay additionally to access full content...I pay my subscription X4 without missing a beat, I do not script in any way shape or form, nor attempt to exploit the system in its faults. All I want is accountability, I can handle the bugs, just fix them properly when they do occur. I don't think we do the game or its current subscribers any service through complacency. I would consider that to be more in line with poor form.

I regret your loss and hope you do understand this what I am about to say is only meant to bring you back to reality in UO.

How many time have you or anyone you know lost a valued item in game? Too many to count.

GM reaction? Sorry we can not replace your lost or stolen items.

Is it fair? In the eyes of UO/EA: YES This was started to end the fraudlent requests from players back in the days when vanq's ruled.

Would the Dev ever consider replacement of items again in game? NO

You were damn lucky to get some of your list filled, your a very lucky player to get them to do this! Many of us who over the years lost beloved thing envy you. Be happy in the fact you got the chance to recover something lost to a bug... I know you lost alot but in the long run wouldnt you just be happy you did get something where the rest of us got squat?
