Magincian Residents Murdered. Summarization of Events.
The Freeborn Press
Magincia has found itself under assault these past couple weeks.
Umbra has declared war on the Isle of Pride at the behest of House Seiren. The ancient house claims that a resident of the Isle - Valek of the Magincian Trading Co. - cut his throat and attempted to murder him. The Magincians counter this was in defense of their own.
The Council of Necrarchs has extended their threat to the Border Kingdom of Dawn - who possesses a building near the border of the Necropolis - declaring the lives of the Northerners forfeit if caught in the Dark Republic.
House Faeryn has declared the Magincians - Lynne and those associated with her in particular - traitors and has promised to lead Britannia against the Isle.
And last - but not least - a mysterious malefactor has sworn vengeance against the Isle for the death of Proserpina Gypsybane. Citizens have been found murdered in the woods - their flesh melted from the bone - with notes at their feet attributed to "A."
Observers speculate who "A" might be. Proserpina was once apprenticed to an Asimov - Cabal of the Dark Tower - but Dante of House Lamperouge claims otherwise. "I would know if he had returned," comments the Magincian. "I would know if he managed to crawl out of the pit."
The Magincians have issued a proclamation disavowing knowledge or participation in the deaths of Proserpina and Nicholas Tarrant.
But it has failed to stop the murders. Fire bombs were thrown at the steps of the Sea Witch Tavern last evening. The fire was doused before it could spread and damages are minimal.
Fern - High Seat of House Goodfellow and Stewardess of Golden - will attempt to solve this enduring mystery tomorrow evening. She has commissioned a Shaman to summon the shade of Tarrant in hopes he might shed light on the murderer.
