RNG/Luck/Pinks Anyone else seem to be broke?

Ok I have tested this out again just today. I try to farm pinks like everyone else but stopped because unlike everyone else I don't get any *ok maybe one a week*.. Friends say I am crazy and its just bad timing or luck...(as for luck also used that)

So today I woke up and wanted to test this, I popped Prime evil spawn worked it for item, pick up bones for timer , headed to Marble in fel where it was rat spawn worked that for 10 mintues, went back to prime evil , worked that popped item , went back to marble for 10 I did this like 9 times today (mind you only takes me about 5 mintues to hit 4 candles at prime also) and got no pinks or whites. So got bored and just went back to marble and worked it up to 8 candles, still nothing. Then took trip to destard worked that up to about 8 candles ..........and nothing..

Mind you I had another friend working up other spawns and they ended up with 10 pinks
Any clue of how to fix this problem?

Sorry, I've done the Vermin Horde thru multiple levels on several occasions, got nothing ever and just went home. Don't you have to be there from start to finish? I go just for the thrill of the kill.

I don't know I do this countless times I never get anything rather like my trips to Doom... typically come away empty handed or with some worthless item like the Dragon Lance. Meanwhile friends of mine get back to back ornies... Go figure.

For those that find it working, How do you play it to receive the items? Didn't they make some changes a while back, where if you leave, or don't stay to the end, etc, you get nothing?

The pinks will drop on ya anytime thru the spawn...It's the specials that they supposedly changed a while back to keep someone from runnin in on the champ and getting the drop. But Im not sure that even works.
And if Im lucky enough to get a pink, it will be item id or camping :/ wish they would take the useless ones out of the drop list

As i remember it from a while ago so might be wrong now, if you leave the server the champ spawn is on for more than 5 minutes [this was so you could go to bank and drop loot off] your points you gathered there will be lost, so any item you might be close to getting will revert to the next highest person at the spawn [that could be someone who did 1 kill] but they will get it not you.

I think you need to look up the servers and the timing as iv done multiple champs but as long as im back and kill something at champ A before the 5 minutes are up im back at the top, so its possible to do 2-3 champs as long as you kill something there before the 5 min timer runs out.

If pinks is what your farming you need to do as my mate does, work the first spawn till near 2nd them stop wait for candles to disapear and do it again and a gain and a gain and just farm the first spawn. Simple Ehhh!

Just did three spawns in a row, did the first two start to finish, the third I took to third level before quitting.
The night's take?? One pink, fencing 0.2 :/

I've always gotten a lot more on my dexxer than on my mage.....on my mage i've only ever gotten 1-2, on my dexxer i'd easily get 5-6 per spawn (in both cases basicly soloing it). Not sure if it's as intended but it definitely seems like direct damage gets you more total than spell/summon damage, so perhaps it's weighted by damage type like honor is?

So when I'm running oaks or taulo in ilsh alone I have to fill up one side with red skulls and 2on the next side. Basically when the shadow wisps stop spawning and it's the next level. Bam I at least 3 everytiime. Not sure if thIs is how it works in cel though

I've always found that a dexxer with whirlwind and hit area effect is way more effective for collecting pinks and finished champs.

If I understand the drop system correctly - there is a specific number that can drop anytime throughout the build-up to the champ. If that is true - then if someone else comes in at server up and works the spawn up to level 2 grabbing most all of the scrolls and then leaves - and then you show up and work it up - let it fall - work it up - let it fall - etc. then you can keep doing that for ages and not get a drop. I think at some point you need to finish the champ so the system resets.

I would say it is more like a decay effect. Getting a pink is akin to making a funnel overflow. Gathering a load of the spawn up and area mass killing them. Then running around trying to kill a bunch more before the funnel bleeds off the burst of death for a pink pops over the rim. My Necro/Mage with the massive mana pool gathering spawn for wither EQ combos and EVs and animated dead working the edges. The Necro/Mage has gotten me more pinks then all my other templates combined. Could be that he is the only hunter on that blessed account I do champs on and my other accounts are cursed. As old as UOs code is I would blame the ghost in the machine and some way the OP has to find a way to make nice.

The issue here is that you are only working spawns to the first red candle, then you are leaving to do another. Pinks/Whites do not drop at all during this period in my experience. They only start dropping after you have earned the first red candle. It does not matter how many red candles the spawn starts with. For example, if you pop a spawn and it starts with 2 reds, scrolls will not start generating until you have at least three red skulls. If you pop a spawn and it starts with 4 red candles, then scrolls will not start dropping until you have at least 5 red candles.

So if you are leaving as soon as you get the first red candle, you are literally working it right to the point where scrolls can start spawning, and then you stop. What you need to do is work the spawn up by 2 or three candles, then let it drop by one, then rise it by one... rinse, repeat. Again, as an example: if you pop a spawn and it starts with 4 red candles, you need to work it up to 6 red candles, let it drop down to five, work it back up to 6, let it drop to five, etc.
