Rides to River

Is there any etiquette to getting a ride to Nutty River? Is it customary to ask before jumping to someone in NR? I've only had friends for a couple weeks who are routinely in NR, or who've been in NR at all! So far I've always asked. Just curious.

I always ask first. If they don't reply, I try to port to them.

I don't always get asked first, but it doesn't bug me. It does bug some people, however.

It only bugged me if they didnt have the courtesy to say thanks when they landed. I had one friend that would always TP to me and then run off without a word. He didnt stay on my list for long. I do think its only polite to ask and remember to say ty.

I generally will TP to someone who is in NR, more so if they are where I want/need to be. I try to always say "ty" to SF's, "Thanks!" to non-sf's and tend to do that when I'm tp'ing to someone who isn't a friend (such as across a playground). I don't always do it but I try. If I know the person is just idling then I might not say it (but I usually do). If someone TP's to me it doesn't bother me at all. Way I see it, it's a friend so if they want NR and I'm available for a TP then what's the harm?

I always say thank you but i x'ed, what i assumed was a kid, because i would tell him im in a building and he would keep trying to visit me non-stop and it drove me crazy.

I always ask first. I once x'd someone because the only time I ever had any contact with them was when they would grab a ride to River, say thanks, then ran off. Actually, now I only have TFs on my list, although I will occasionally had others for a short time.

I usually ask if they are busy or not first. If I get no answer from friends that I know park in river I just tp say thanks and go about my business. It's only polite to ask and thank the peraon that helped you get into river. I don't require either from a friend. But being appreciated is always nice.

Usually I am extremely particular about TP etiquette -- except when it comes to NR and NS. To me it is THE exception. People TP to me when I'm there and it's understood why. Vice versa my friends usually know why I'm TPing unannounced.

Being the nature of it and that most of us got there from friends, I respect the circumstance and feel an obligation to those on my list to return the favor. If I am in the factory or something I'll give them an estimate of how long I'll be and if they want me to let them know I am out.

I always ask first to see if they are busy. If I don't get an answer I tp. I always say TY. I don't mind if someone tps to me without asking. I do expect some kind of acknowledgement once you get there if I say hi. I had one non sf on my little toon's list. Yesterday he tped to me and when he landed I waved Hi! and How are you doing? He gave me this blank stare, opened and shut his book then walked away. Needless to say he is no longer on my friends list. LOL!

I dont require someone to ask or to thank me. They're my friends after all..lol Most of them do ask, and most of them do say thank you. I just ask that people dont try to tp to me over and over incessantly. If you tp once and it says I'm busy... just ask what i'm up to. If I dont answer.. I'm probably tooning and chewing gum at the same time and can't coordinate a reply. As soon as I'm done craning, stomping, pie'ing or whatever.. I'll let you know when I can get you to river

All my friends usually ask if they can TP or if they don't, they always say "thanks" or "hello". I personally would not TP without asking. If no response I assume they're busy and can't talk or maybe have too many conversations going. Then I'll TP and say thanks or hello.

If someone is in a playground or neighborhood, I will TP without asking. If they are in a headquarters, I will usually ask. I will say Thanks! After all, you gotta share the wealth!

If someone is just using me incessantly for a ride to river, and not offering help on what Im doing, they wont be on my list long. Unless they are in River at times without my help (you scratch my back, Ill scratch yours)

On that same note, If someone is trying to be my friend in CBHQ just so they can go get gags, sure Ill accept there request, but once they leave, Ill delete them. I ran there, why cant they?

Depends on the situation. If you just finished a mint with them, you both need another mint and they friend you for the reason of gags, then they probably want you to get gags and tp back to them and vice versa. But if they just go up to you, you've never seen them before in your laff but then do that, then just say that your friends list is full (I try to turn off friend requests a.s.a.p. when I connect).

I agree with Fangs. But even whith turning off my friends request immediately I still get 1 to 2 requests beore I even get fully logged in. It's like they are hunting us down like animals. Ooh wait we are animal toons LOL.

Yikes! I rarely ask. I just TP figuring if they are busy then I won't be able to successfully TP. I do say thank you and do stay and chat for awhile or help out if I'm just playing with no particular goal.

I have an SF though who is extremely successful at parking in river so I TP to her almost 90% of the time. I do say TY even if she is probably AFK. I've tried her techinique -- at least from what I've observed -- but I still can't get it to work.

I am more than happy to provide free rides to River anytime I'm on, in that dist, and not otherwise occupied. Feel free to TP, and I don't care if you say thank you or whatever...The only time I will get annoyed is if you try to tp 500 times in a row when the first time didn't work...if you can't get to me, ask me what's up and I'll tell you where I'm at and how long it will be. Don't try to TP incessantly....That's my only request.
