I remember a long time ago when AoS came out there was a place that had all the original game music to download and you could replace the new mp3's with the old (midi?) files. Can we do this legally? And if so, where can I obtain these files? I no longer have my original UO disc, just the 9th anni one. Ty.

Yes, it's legal, though you might have to convert the MIDI to MP3s, and it requires altering the configuration file for what track plays.

There's several places out there with music going back to the early days of Ultima, but I only stopped by one long enough to download the files a couple years ago.

And, you have to put the music files back as they were (including the configuration files) to be able to patch, so save the old files as a backup somewhere.

They're also on Stratics pages.

Um... I haven't had to, and I've had completely altered music files/config since at least January.
